The entirety of Hogwarts was breathtaking, and equally so were the stairs that Sadie trudged upwards to reach the Owlery to send her first letter. She had been carefully instructed by her professor to ensure her parents would be informed that her first week had been successful. Sadie was unsure if that was exactly the case; however, nonetheless, she more than obliged, a pang of homesickness washing over her every time she changed into her pyjamas, and the swathe of red was the first and last thing she saw in the first-year dormitories of Gryffindor.
Sadie was a brave female knight, conquering unknown lands like the ones she had read about at home, fearless, braving the feast hall where the sounds swam around her head till she felt a migraine thudding in her temples. Conquering the highest tree she was able to climb till she felt as if the branches would snap if she climbed any higher, the breeze tangling her hair in the leaves and into uncrushable knots she would regret later. Sadie was in the depths of her adventure, yet all she seemed to pine for now was home and the comfort of her mother and father, the fireplace that crackled and threatened to lick at her arms, the neighbour's cat that slowly warmed to her, fur brushing against her ankles as she began her expedition to school.
Dear Mother and Father,
Can I please go home? I haven't managed to meet anyone yet, yes, I did meet my schoolmates, but I don't think they like me. I'm just as weird as I was back home, but at least I had Pirate to keep me company. The plants and people are loud, the plants are very lovely I suppose but. I feel like the upperclassmen keep thinking I'm weird because I'm always in the greenhouse trying to eat. You know I get hungry.
I don't wish to impide impede, but can I please go home? Everyone else seems to know what Hogwarts is, and I was told there were others just like me. I think the professors lied. I know that everything was quite dare dear, but I cannot be here because everyone thinks I'm weird.
Please send a hasty reply!!
Love and kisses,
Sade
The letter was smudged with dirt, and dishevel from her professor opening the letter to be greeted with the gift of multitudes of clippings of plants she had found on her ventures in the courtyard, 'Muggles were not allowed anything magical' the herbology professor had exclaimed to her, his brow furrowed in concern as he slowly untangled the mess of earth and roots from the bulging letter. Staining the letter in blotches in earthen colours as Sadie stared innocently, she had hoped that as he had turned away, her deft fingers digging at the soil would not be noticed. But apparently, all professors in this school had eyes behind their heads, as well as magic to intercept her smuggling attempts.
----------------------------------
The owl looked at her quizzically as she panted, sweat dripping down her visage, her pointed gaze fixed on its plume of feathers, a magnificent beast of soft browns and cream.
Take this to mum and dad.
She said to the owl in gasps, letter outstretched in shaky fingers as Sadie regained her breath slowly. The owl almost seemed to look at her in amusement, its claws flexing against its perch as it stared at the letter, then back to her. There were almost hundreds of owls staring at her, or so she thought, before setting her sights on the prettiest owl she could find.
Do you need my address or something??
The bird almost looked shocked as she raised her voice, her exclamation reverberating against the stone walls of the tower as she shook the letter in her hand. Desperation thick in her voice, a trill tone blending with the chirps of the surrounding birds. A flare of annoyance washed over her as she stepped closer to the bird, who was supposed to be a beacon of hope to her eternal loneliness. And yet it continued to peer at her, an amber gaze met with her icy stare as she repeated her address over and over again.
Blasted bird, I cannot deal with you any longer. Blasted school, blast it all!!!

Robin cursed whomever he could think of cursing in that little mind of his. He tried to adjust his breathing but he still needed to gasp for air every ten steps or so. The Owlery, of all places, was located at the top of one of the tallest towers in Hogwarts. By the time he emerged from the door, his legs were wobbly and his whole body was sticky with sweat. Not a great visual.
The cause of his torment was his mother, Myrcelle. Just about an hour ago at breakfast, when some students were receiving their mail, Robin got a Howler.
"ROBIN WHY HAVE YOU NOT SENT US A LETTER YET ROBIN YOU ARE KILLING ME WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON TELL ME ALL THE GOSSIP–" You get the idea. Myrcelle was a very passionate person and would be very interested in hearing everything her son experienced from getting on that train. The Howler was quite embarrassing, Robin thought he could hear some of his peers laugh in the background. To prevent future incidents of social death, Robin immediately wrote a letter detailing the events that transpired during this first week after finishing breakfast. He didn't have class at nine today, so he had time to spare.
Now he's finally at the owlery, but he leaned on the stone wall to catch a breath first.
"Do you need my address or something??"
That was when Robin heard an annoyed voice come from deeper with in the room. He shifted his gaze towards that direction, seeing the back of a girl with bright copper hair.
Then came the volcano.
"Blasted bird, I cannot deal with you any longer. Blasted school, blast it all!!!"
The owls aren't listening to her? No, that can't be, never seen a disobedient messenger owl my whole life. Robin quickly disputed his own argument, She probably just doesn't know how to send one off.
After steadying his breathing, Robin walked a few steps forward and stood in front of a different owl near the girl. He also took a better look at her, who he now knows from the color of her robes is a Gryffindor. Robin took out the envelope that contained his letter and carefully attached it to the owl with a twine.
"Please take this to Myrcelle Nightingale." After pulling his hands away, the owl seemed to toot as confirmation and ascended into the sky beyond. Robin turned to the still irritated girl, hesitated for a moment, then spoke up to explain what he just did: "You just need to attach the thing you're sending to an owl, and uh . . . tell them the recipient. They'll know where to go. Not exactly sure how, some sort of training."
ReducioSorry if it isn't what you'd thought, I just specified the time being in the morning because I got Robin a schedule and that's the most reasonable time for him to be there, also cause in the early afternoon he has a different encounter elsewhere, so I wanted to avoid time conflict. Also open to change:)

Eye to eye, beak to nose, girl and bird stood in a standoff of glares so sharp that even the owls around them seemed to quieten only slightly compared to her initial entrance. Sadie, impatient and emotional as ever, stamped her farm boots onto the floor, breaking the standoff. The stones beneath her gave nothing of a reply, but the dust settling on the leather of her boots created enough of an impact to satisfy her contempt. The bird was mocking her, she was sure of it. In the way its gaze settled on her as if to sneer, the sheer beauty of the creature was the only thing stopping her from dropping the letter and wrangling the beast, and another flare of annoyance washed through the red head like a tsunami along her spine. Her countenance faltered, hot to touch with the apples of her cheeks tinging red. She shook away the tears in her eyes, resigned as the paper crumpled in her now balled fists. Why couldn't anything go right for her?
Why must it be so hard to find even one small part of peace? Lamentfully she drooped her frame over her knees, using the balls of her feet to balance, the grand entrance of the first year students had been far too much for her, she could still feel the ringing in her ears as the audience surrounding her erupted in applause at each student, her hands instinctively flexing to cover her ears everytime a student was placed into a house. Everyone else had looked so calm, eagerly finding peers as if it was natural, like this was all natural.
It wasn't; everything about this place was far too unnatural for her.
Paintings came alive in these halls, not like the projections she had seen at the Art gallery in East Kilbride, like living beings that held their own soul and sentience. Everything seemed to have a far too human-like sentience in this castle, including the owl in front of her, not that she had assumed the birds of wisdom would be anything less than what it was literally the symbol of. It was too much, and she didn't understand. One step forward into understanding this place sent her ten steps backwards.
"Please take this to Myrcelle Nightingale."
Sadie rubbed her teary eyes, startled by the sudden voice behind her. She had not realised another being had entered the room with her during her self-pity session. Great, now someone else thinks I'm weird, too. As soft footsteps approached, she stood in panic, almost tumbling in the process as she straightened herself with a sniff, trying to keep what little dignity she possessed left and keep a facade she had absolutely not been about to burst into tears. The red-haired girl's mind swam in insecurity; she could already hear the whispers of the sooky little Muggleborn unable to send owls.
However, as she straightened, she found herself facing a soft expression of sorts, nothing of the snark she had imagined as she looked over the boy, who was similar in age. He reminded her of a bird himself, with inky-black hair tied into a ponytail and grey eyes peering behind rectangular frames. What surprised her more was his height; she had not often met someone who matched her in height as they peered at each other.
"You just need to attach the thing you're sending to an owl, and uh . . . tell them the recipient. They'll know where to go. Not exactly sure how, some sort of training."
Sadie blinked once, twice, and then thrice to process the boy's instructions. The trembling in her fingers seemed to still, the anxiety ebbing away until it was a small cherry seed in her abdomen. A sharp laugh escaped her, the owl beside her rustling at the sudden sound as she gnawed at the skin on her empty hands, thumb on instinct. Spinning on her heels, she once again faced her, its amber eyes showing no emotion at her sudden increase in resolve, slowly reaching out to the owl as it clasped her letter with a tender claw.
Take this to Ewan and Aoife Fox please.
As if nodding in acknowledgement, the owl immediately burst into flight and soared outward, leaving the girl stuck in place, awed by how majestic it looked simply doing something as natural to it as flying. Watching the bird, she dared not turn her head until it soared out of view into the highlands, the fog and mountains obscuring her sight from any further.
Thank you, I'm not quite so sure how to do these things, I suppose; it's all just so confusing to me, you know, magic and all, birds as postmen.
She flung her arms in the air, signalling the surroundings, before pausing and extending her arm towards him, palms wide, as she remembered her manners. She could feel the judgmental eyes of Granny even from here, miles away.
I..I'm Sadie, by the way. Sadie Fox.

The girl calmed down a bit after hearing Robin's instructions. After the owl took her letter and flew off, she stared at the departing creature for a moment, seemingly awestruck by its form.
The tall Gryffindor then turned back around: "Thank you, I'm not quite so sure how to do these things, I suppose; it's all just so confusing to me, you know, magic and all, birds as postmen."
Robin nodded, "Yeah, my parents told me lots of stuff but, well, the castle's just too big." He was indeed commenting on the fact that there's too many things to explore and familiarize yourself with in Hogwarts or the magical world in general, but he's also just being picky about the distance between places in the castle. Laziness drove that to be his main complaint about this school.
The girl was gesturing towards her surroundings when she talked about the strangeness of owls sending mail, but paused after some sort of realization. She extended her hand, presumably for a shake.
"I..I'm Sadie, by the way. Sadie Fox."
Her palm was open, clearly an invite for a handshake. Dang it, Robin hesitated before reaching out and touching her hand: "I'm Robin. Lockett. Robin as in the bird and Lockett as in the necklace thing but with two 't's."
After introducing his name, Robin quickly retracted his hand. He tried to stay still for a couple more seconds, but it looks like he still prefers not to have physical touch. Or at least not to initiate it. He'd been stepping out of his comfort zone these past few days by talking to people at all, making friends, even. Robin thought he might be able to just take one more step, but apparently not.
Hope my hand wasn't too sweaty, couldn't really tell . . . Robin took a deep breath and pushed his glasses up a bit: "No offense by the way." He looked down at his hands, hoping that would be enough explanation.
After a brief moment of silence, he glanced at his watch, it was 9:40. He had Potions at 10:00, it might be a good idea to leave . . . after concluding the small talk, of course. Robin didn't want to leave in the middle of a conversation - if this can qualify as one - especially seeing the perks that socialization had got him up until now. Relationships might not seem useful at first glance, but they will be in the long run. He hadn't got to know a Gryffindor yet, who's to say if he'll meet one again? Also, he's got everything he needs for Potions on him already, there's still time to linger. Robin didn't want to forfeit a potentially rewarding connection when there's nothing to lose.
"So, uh . . . you're not too used to these things, eh? Are you muggle-born, perhaps?" He then immediately tried to clarify his tone: "Just curious, nothing against them. My dad was a muggle-born wizard, and I've made a muggle-born . . . friend, on the train here. They're quite common, actually. If no muggles could use magic, wizards would've died off a long time ago."
Robin raised his gaze to peek at Sadie's expression. He didn't want to anger anyone in his first week of class and start some dramatically heated rivalry that would disrupt his studies. His mum might like that, she always adored theatrics. Robin was probably overthinking it though. He hadn't met any muggle-born ashamed of their status yet, but then again, he had only met a few.
He almost felt the owls' eyes piercing into him like a thousand daggers. They literally had nothing to do with this, but everything seemed so quiet and sinister when you're awaiting judgement.
Reduciono problem at all, love your response too:)
