cauldrons and phials and scales, oh my...

Anna couldn't keep the small smile from her lips. It was clear Theresa was still trying to get used to the whole 'your daughter is a witch...no I'm not joking' thing. The young witch listened raptly as the professor explained to mom and daughter the purpose of the cauldrons. Potions class primarily, it seemed. As they stepped inside the shop, they looked around, taking in the surroundings. The area was brimming with all different types of cauldrons of varying shapes, colors, sizes and material. Anna's eyes immediately latched onto a silver cauldron.
"We will be looking for a standard pewter cauldron." The professor's voice cut in. Anna looked sheepish and disappointed. She supposed the professor noticed, for they added; "For first years, the cauldron of pewter would do. Cauldron's sizes and material aren't just for looks. Some potions require specific types to be properly brewed. You'll learn all of this and more once you start school."
Anna nodded slowly. She supposed that made sense. But it did leave her wondering what the silver cauldron would be used for. As her mom helped her carry her school cauldron to the counter, she took time to admire the rest of the items before the three of them left the shop, continuing on with their shopping day.
