Dear Momma and Daddy,
I miss you both so much. It's been so different being in a new place. Everything is different here really. There's so much I need to tell you! The castle is huge! I think I could walk around it for at least a hundred years and not find everything. They brought first years to the school by boat and the boats had little rubber duckies on them! I wish I had taken pictures of it, but I was scared to get in! And there were even students who fell in to the lake! But don't worry, there's a giant squid that lives there and it got them out and put them back in the boat again.
Oh, and I was sorted into a house. Hufflepuff! Everything is so nice here, our house colors are yellow and black, and our common room is so cozy! We've got cool plants everywhere, and a large willow tree, and our beds can be turned into hammocks, so it's like we could be camping! And did you know what else? The pictures here move! I wish our pictures could. Maybe there's a way to make them? If I find out, I will tell you both.
By the way, I was thinking when I have the money, I could get a pet. But I know I would have to bring them home when school is out. Can I have one? Please?
When I get through my first week of classes, I will write you again and let you know how I am doing. I can't wait to get started!
Tell Aubrey I miss her too. I'm sure she's happy she can watch her shows now without me hogging the remote. ☺
