Like Wand, Like Witch
' Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands was established in 382 B.C. '
Andrea stared at the shop. She had heard all about it. Her mother had told her about her experience when she had first gotten her wand, saying that it was one of the most special moments for a witch. She encouraged Andrea to go alone and witness the magic while she and her husband would go find the rest of the supplies.
Andrea opened the shop's door, a soft ringing of the bell indicating her arrival. She observed all the wand boxes around her—which came in different sizes and colors—but most importantly, the empty counter in front.
"Hello?" She whispered, not sure if she was intruding. "Hello, Miss Woodsburn!" Andrea flinched. Ollivander had appeared out of nowhere. She blinked owlishy as he rambled about the various failures her parents had encountered during the search for their first wands.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, they say. Ollivander had offered Andrea multiple wands, yet none of them were right for her. "Nope! Not right! Definitely not!" She sighed dramatically, already tired.
Just then, Ollivander had approached her once more. "28,8 cm cherry wood and snallygaster heartstring, don't you think?" An imaginary breeze had flown through Andrea's hair. The wand definitely fit right in her hand, maybe this was it. "Brittle, highly powerful and loves being powerful, extremely difficult to control."
Andrea raised her brow, clearly interested. She examined the wand from every angle, like trying to fix a puzzle. "Extremely difficult to control? I doubt it." Ollivander had a smile on his face, "Definitely the right wand for you, Miss Woodsburn."
With a polite grin, Andrea had left the shop satisfied. She had met up with her parents and happily told them about her experience. She couldn't wait to use her wand during classes at Hogwarts.
