The Dark Side of the Moon mini solo

Au Revoir.

That's all he wanted to say.

He couldn't think too in depth about it. Not while he was trapped here. Trapped in the constraints of this school. Trapped within the walls of cold, depressing, gray stone. Trapped with the words of exciting chatter coming from the mouths of the mouthy first years.

He wandered down the hall, the frown on his face prominent as he felt an empty pit in his stomach. He wasn't hungry. Just.. felt like his heart sank to the bottom of his torso like the Titanic did in the ocean.

He didn't have a Jack to save him. He was just like Rose. He had the room for others, but he wasn't sharing it. They could all suffer while he suffered in that moment.

His damned cousin died. His favorite cousin. The one that would make mud pies with him when he was little, and turn the game of cornhole around and play dodgebag. He was his fellow mischief maker even if Vlad himself was never actually one to make the mischief himself.

His pride had faltered. He felt insecure. And perhaps the only way to keep his mind off of his insecurity, his lack of joy. His lack of pride. Was to torment someone.

He needed to shift gears. He couldn't be pushed around anymore. He whipped out his wand at a first year passing by and yelled out the incantation to the severing charm. He wasn't going to look back though assuming the damage had been done. And it had. He aimed it towards his trousers and turned around, he heard an exclamation and Vlad smirked, staring at the people in the corridors.

"What. WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? GET MOVING." He growled, blowing up at them. Some rushed around him, others just looked at him weird. Others.. well.. Vlad was too busy being consumed in his own tantrum that he didn't really pay much attention to the others.

He stuffed his wand back into his pocket and shoved both of his hands (except for the thumbs) into the pockets on both sides and with a slump and his head down, he made his way through the incoming crowd, though snickering to himself mentally for his little tormenting action earlier. But he had to keep a move on in hopes that he wouldn't be caught. He didn't want a detention nor did he want to explain why he did what he did.

When he got to Gryffindor's common room, he looked behind him and slammed the door. He had a private plan. A plan to write a letter to his family. To express his frustration and annoyance at the loss of such a beautiful soul that was such a good impact on him.

In my mind and in my car, we can't rewind, we've gone too far. (Video Killed The Radio Star - The Buggles)
