Crystal's Correspondence
Dearest Mum and Dad,
I hope this letter finds you both in the very best of health and spirits. I write with the most delightful news! I have been sorted into Gryffindor! The Sorting Hat spoke of courage within me, and almost at once I was met with the warmest cheers from my new house. My common room is very warm. There's a fireplace, bunch of couches and bean bags with red and yellow pillows along with a large window over-looking the quiescent, breath-taking courtyard below.
My first week at Hogwarts has passed in most pleasant way possible. I find myself growing more at ease in this unfamiliar but not unwelcome space with each passing day. The lessons have proven thoroughly engaging. Potions, Astronomy, and Defense Against the Dark Arts are particular favourites of mine.
I have also had the good fortune of making several friends, both within Gryffindor and among the other houses. We often spend time together in the library or strolling by the Great Lake in our free time. I am especially pleased to tell you that I have achieved an “Outstanding” grade! It's the highest grade achievable here.
