Final Errand for Enchanted Ramadan 2026
Eid is a time when generosity and community comes together through shared meals and exchanged gifts. This year, students and adults are invited to Hogwarts to take part in an afternoon dedicated to creating and giving small presents to the people (and elves) who made this month a little brighter.
The Great Hall in Tenusa has been rearranged for the occasion. On one side, tables are covered with arts and crafts supplies. From colored parchment, ribbons, beads, and bits of fabric; for those who enjoy making things by hand. Participants may sit here and design cards, bookmarks, or other simple trinkets and small keepsakes. On the other side, tables display a range of modest, ready-made items that may be wrapped and gifted, including sweets, quills, bookmarks, little lanterns, and other such small tokens.
Every participant is encouraged to prepare three gifts:
1. One for a house-elf, for all the work they do in the background to quietly keep the castle running. These gifts can be left on a clearly marked table, where house-elves may collect them later in their own time. Clothing and clothing-adjacent items should not be gifted to house-elves
2. One for a friend, whether that is someone close or one that's only recently come to be appreciated.
3. One for a member of staff, to acknowledge the adults who guided, challenged, or simply listened.
Gifts do not have to be expensive or elaborate. Some may treat this as a light-hearted opportunity to tease friends with funny gifts. Others may use it to thank someone who helped them through a difficult moment, or to reach out to someone they found intimidating before. All of these are welcome, as long as the spirit of Eid is honored.
This errand takes place earlier on the same day as A Blessed Eid Banquet. Characters may spend the afternoon preparing and delivering their gifts, then later join the feast to eat, talk, and socialize.

Gifts of Kindness in Enchanted Ramadan
Date: 20th March 2026Enchanted Ramadan: Part 1, A Most Trusted Ally
With the international events and scandals finally beginning to diminish in memory Lawrence was taking a much needed respite from society. The Open day was but another failure to add to his lifelong tally and another clear sign that Grand Seer Denbeigh had been naive to believe Law could slip back into the home he had once renounced. On an island full of outsiders, so diverse and broad in culture and lineage he still felt entirely isolated. In truth these were nothing more than the delusions of despair that plagued upon his mind, but the thoughts lingered tangibly and the scorn of disappointment would not be easily rebuked.
Thankfully with the announcement of Eid Mubarak, the Isle was abuzz with new energy. The damage caused by the invasive species still haunted the dark pockets of Macan Tutul but the areas populated by islanders was once again safe to roam. It was a time of year for celebration, though truth be told with how many regions and religions that the Isle and its people comprised of, it was a wonder they ever stopped celebrating. While Lawrence was not Muslim himself, nor did he really adhere to any kind of religious doctrine, he knew the importance of faith, especially in times of hardship. Perhaps that was the reason he was drawn to Tenūsa's central court yard where the festivities were being held. Despite the struggles they had faced mere months ago, it brought him solace to see smiles on his student's faces and the communal spirit still thriving in the heart of the jungle.
With renewed spirit and an urge to reconcile with the overdue thanks he still undoubtedly needed to resolve, Lawrence made his way to a table of young clan pewari and began working alongside them in harmony dedicating his time to three particular gifts for those most deserving. After all, if he started making gifts for every one he owed an apology or thanks, he would be here until next Eid.
First he would tackle the closest of his compatriots, the one that had been standing by him the last month ensuring his body was not bombarded with harassing letters on safety and poor judgement, nor the continued onslaught from the world's wizarding press. Vesilla had long been a cherished member of the Tenūsa faculty, once a house elf she had chosen the Isle as her home when released from service and had taken up a residence ever since. While small in stature the fearsome little elf was nothing short of a firecracker and no sooner had she settled into relative peace on the Isle, had she taken up a position as the Grand Seer's personal assistant. Many thought her time done when news of Denbeigh's passing came having served many great leaders, but still she remained leading the new Grand Seer's into the future, protecting them from the administrative nightmare of education while demanding of them the level of duty she knew the position required.
As a boy Lawrence could remember the stern face she reprimanded him with when his arguments with Darana landed him in not simply a lecture from his dukun but the Grand Seer. There was always love behind her scolding as if righteous fury had a heart. Still his appreciation for her had never been so clear these past months. The devotion she had shown him not only to her belief in his futile attempt to bring the wizarding community together, but to the vested interest she had in not letting him give up. The elf would have undoubtedly shackled him to the island if he attempted to leave again and by the tears in her large eyes Maynard wondered how affected she was the last time he fled. Being so close to Denbeigh it was likely she suffered all too well in the pain he clearly did, thus he could not do that to her again. As such he found the perfect consideration for his gift.
Wrapped in fine silk Vesilla was presented a small bracelet of a rainbow serpent overlapping and eternally moving like water itself. The symbol was a part of the dreaming ideology of the aboriginal people his family hailed from in Australia and was a devotion to the eternal cycle of life itself. It was a commendation to the devotion she had shown the Isle and its leaders for years as part of the cycle of things, and a declaration that he himself was not giving up, that he would ride the wave to find the next and follow the water regardless of its temperament, a strength he found through her. Revealing his own wrist Vesilla would see a matching adornment moving in the opposite direction for water did not flow in only one direction, and the world did not either. They would keep moving forward, against all tides, against all storms, together, as Denbeigh would have wanted.

Even in the harshest of storms there are lights to guide you home, there is hope in the deepest of despair and when the clouds break and the wind dies on the horizon it shines for an eternity in the knowledge that you pulled through. @Desislava Nenovsky was that kind of light. Lawrence had given no reason for her to believe him after the multiple failures he had subjected her to in their friendship, yet still she stood there as a beacon of light in the dark. A rock when he was a constant hard place.
From the moment they had met he had proven himself to be, well rather unstable truthfully. Haunted by the visions of his past, bound by the visions of his future and so blind from the haze to visualise his life in the present. Even from that first moment of meeting though they had found a kind of kindred spirit with their sight. Lawrence had always lashed against the idea that his sight was a gift, largely because of the great deal of pain and torment it stirred within him, but Desi understood the true secrets of divination. She didn't reject his fear of the power he possessed nor try to convince him against it. Instead she simply showed the joy of living without that fear and shackle. Desi taught him that he would never outswim his sight, that he could choose to drown in it or embrace life in spite of it.
Even now, an ocean away, he could see her smile in the way the sun glittered off the waters edge, her voice on the sea mist breeze telling him to stop being so hard on himself. Somehow whenever they spoke he felt at ease, like things wouldn't go wrong, still the feeling never lasted. Something always went wrong. Flashing back to the open day Lawrence could still remember the shame he felt begging her to take the children away from the mess. The man had hidden beneath the lies that it was spurred by his unrelenting trust for her, that sending her with them was in everyone's best interest. In truth, he couldn't bare to feel better. Lawrence knew he didn't deserve to, and if she stayed with him, she would've made him.
Leaving the grand halls of Tenūsa he found himself wandering til the soil beneath his feet shifted and the large canopies parted to reveal the great expanse of ocean before him. Their true shared connection, not the power they both possessed but the place that brought them together and steadied their restless hearts. Making his way to the vendors of Lumba-Lumba he spoke with a carpenter ready to start on her gift. With so much turmoil recently he wanted Desi to remember the real island she once called home lest her mind be tricked by the poison the new year had brought. Lawrence wanted her to have a little bit of home and even if it didn't provide the comfort it once might've, at the very least it would serve as an apology and a thank you. A token of his appreciation for standing by him.
Talon delivered by a majestic Javan Hawk-Eagle a delicate parcel wrapped in traditional batik designed paper the gift would be left upon her desk in the divination tower. Upon unwrapping the bow Desislava would find an ornately crafted music box of mother of pearl and sea shell ornate decoration. Inside laid a pearl carved mermaid against a hand painted mural of the Isle's coast that had been enchanted to mirror the exact conditions of the current tides. The music itself was not music at all but a gentle soundscape of the ocean itself intended to soothe.
Etched to the underside was an engraving with three simple words, "Thank you always." A gesture he hoped might settle any resentment built over his lack of contact. A step in the direction out of the dark and into the light, the light she always led him to.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

With those two out of the way it only left one, and for the very reason he didn't choose to address it earlier, it was going to be the hardest. In truth he wasn't sure where the pair stood, whether at odds or something else entirely. The continued support to allow him to participate as a host in the Koldovstoretz, International Magical Olympic Games had been generous and no doubt laborious given the backlash he risked, so its appreciation was not to be overlooked. Maynard supposed that was the price of being a visionary, in a way the pair both were. They had attempted to bring the world closer together, but only one succeeded.
Cowering away Lawrence sat in his office, as the hours wound down and darkness set in, racking his brain at what to possibly offer a man who, at least in claim, had everything. Their lack of foundation for what should've been a close familial bond was a canyon of limitless unknowns. @Aulis Vorozheykin was his cousin and a key to a part of Maynard's family they had long since been left behind. They should've been inseparable, two great seers from a lineage of renowned foresight, but such was not the case. No, apart from the clear care and consideration the younger man put into his appearance, Lawrence couldn't say he knew him from a stranger passing by.
Possibilities were endless and all filled the wearied man with dread, for surely the pair had but a few nails left in the coffin before it was sealed shut. After all, who would want to associate themselves with the misfortune of a Seer who couldn't even protect his own island, nor its inhabitants. A seer so defeated by his curse that he let it blind him to the other warnings that were clear as day. Perhaps, even, it was better not to get him anything at all. If the Pajari lineage remained anything like the way his mother had so scornfully described, he knew that Aulis would not be celebrating Ramadan, at least not himself. Still neither was Lawrence technically, this was all just a veiled excuse for atonement. Yet if he stopped now, it might all have been for nothing.
If only he knew him better, the thought striking like steel on an anvil. Perhaps it was not a traditional gift that he should offer at all, but an olive branch. Far too long had the separate sides of the Pajari bloodline been parted, too long held an animosity, that he was quite sure no one on his side truly even remembered, that drew them apart. There was little that he could offer Aulis truly, certainly nothing of wealth or riches, but perhaps he might like to know the extent of how deep his family roots ran. There was of course the possibility that he would reject the offer and dismiss it as sentimental nonsense, but what risk was there in offering. Not to mention that if his efforts were rejected perhaps the man might proposition another forgiveness instead.
With not a minute to waste, Lawrence drew out an elegant piece of parchment and began to write to his long estranged cousin with notions of apology leading to a single question. One that he could choose to answer or not, it would not be a contract, not bind him to anything, but a chance to experience what love lied across the ocean for him. See the joy in Lawrence's niece and nephews eyes as they viewed him with that gentle suspicion while contemplating mischief. Experience the hellish fury of growing up with two sisters and forever being caught in the middle, yet never wanting to miss a second. Delve into the cultural blend that comprised of their small tribe and perhaps even learn the divining secrets he discovered in the aboriginal wizarding tribes. If that wasn't enough to convince him, their was always the blessing to flee the bitter of winter for but a day.
Of course the possibility of rejection still remained for maybe Aulis would never reply, maybe they were but another generation living in the soiled ground that had broken their family. Regardless of the outcome, Lawrence would not deny that he had tried. The Grand Seer that didn't know the future, choosing to live within it rather than predict it, would be blind to his cousins reaction but with it ended his night of self atonement and with the last gift sent, not one held physically but an invitation for more to come, the future seemed lighter.
Dear Aulis, please join myself and my family this Easter in Melbourne. Accept it as an olive branch, and a hope that with our combined sight, we may walk a greater path of enlightenment for ourselves and our families. Adhere my vision for a future as not just colleagues, but as true cousins and better yet, as friends.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
