Express OPEN

The train's whistle signals as it starts to move. I am still in the aisle, though. I continue to stand there as I look around me for an empty or almost empty compartment.

I don't see any, but I do see a lot of genuinely happy people. Every window I look through, I can see loads of people laughing, smiling, and chatting away. It's actually quite strange to see so many happy people in one place at the same time. It's definitely nothing like (muggle-) London.

I start to move down the aisle with all of my luggage, to continue my search for a compartment to sit in. Suddenly I feel a since of relief wash through me as I come upon the very last compartment on the train. There is one girl sitting in it. She seems very drawn to the window. I guess I would be too, if I could ever find a seat, really. I just find the scenery unbelievably incredible.

I knock and open the compartment door simultaneously, aiming to be polite rather than disruptive. As she turns from the window, I give a somewhat awkward, apologetic wave.

"Excuse me, sorry to bother you, do you mind if I sit here? Everywhere else if full." I smile just a little bit. I really don't want to come off as pushy or rude.

Prove them wrong. Twice.
