Violin on a rainy day spring queen Open

Pitter-Patter went the raindrops on the windowsill. A wet, English day is the perfect weather for some music. I carried by violin case into the rehearsal room. Drops fell across the windows. I remembered when I used to watch the raindrops race down windows, cheering on for the little drops of water.

I loved strong, harmonious and sad songs. So, I had decided to play Theme from Schindler’s List. It was a beautifully powerful song, and it really coated the air with music. I loved how music could make people feel emotions so strong and real. It was really quite fascinating. It felt like the perfect song to make people feel. And hopefully vote for me for spring queen!

I took my violin out of its case. I brushed the bow with my hand feeling the hair ripple between by fingers. I polished it with some resin then tightened it to just the right amount.
Resting the violin on my shoulder, I played the song.

One note at a time. I just loved how it made you feel so... free. Every note coursed through the room. Every strum of the bow. I learnt violin from my mother. She was a big fan of instruments, especially the violin. And then I stopped. The last note vibrated through the room for a few seconds but then there was silence.
