It was nearly impossible to focus days after the trip to Tenūsa where, once again, Harlan had himself staring directly at his own inadequacies with a need to overcome or be taken by the unknown. It seemed like there was much more of that in this world where these Hogwarts students were being taught beginner-friendly charms and spells but the deeper ocean of arcana and magicks waited to devour them whole. And quite frankly, Harlan was fucking sick of not having the adequate tools to deal with it.

The amount of times that Harlan had wrote a letter directly to Thaddeus Athanatos apologizing but also seeking answers was astounding, but it always ended in the Gryffindor ripping the letter in two. Who was he to one of the most powerful Purebloods? Harlan knew he didn't care and Thaddeus probably had lackluster half-baked attempts to end his life weekly. Unfortunately for the man, Harlan couldn't shake the possession and the fear of losing control permeated through every thought like a degenerate thought that had him questioning every twitch or weird mind ache he felt throughout his daily life.

The next person was Professor Orion Lécuyer, the man clear in his hazy recollections of the fifteen or so minutes that his body had not just been his own. He hadn't known their connection, despite his every best effort in trying to learn more. What the hell did this all mean? Harlan couldn't be sure and he was tired of waiting for the answers to simply fall into his lap.

Waiting for a break in his schedule and the Professors, Harlan let the entire class empty out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts class and waited ten anxious minutes playing what he wanted to say in his head to the man. ' Who the hell are the Athanatos? How do I protect myself from possessions? What aren't you telling me? ' It'd be impossible to barge in and demand answers to a man who seemed as tight-lipped as he was armored and protected. Surely, the entire place would be covered in wards from a proper Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher and Professor Lécuyer seemed more than capable.

Turning on his heel and forcing himself into the classroom, Harlan's pace was far more frantic than the boy often had when he sauntered into class. His eyes were glued onto the Professor as he offered nothing more than an acknowledgment. " Professor. " He would remained standing, his own wand gripped tight in his student robes as though it would protect him. " I think it's time we talk properly about this Summer. " Harlan would attempt to glean whatever he could from the other's expression, seeing if this might've been something he was trying to ignore or if he was thankful that Harlan would finally bring it up after months of ruminating.

Well, there was no turning back now.

The classroom had settled into a familiar post-lesson silence, with the chalkboard freshly cleaned and prepped for Orion's next cohort. The Frenchman sat behind his desk, his suit jacket hanging over the back of his chair, the sleeves of his collar shirt rolled up as his quill slid across a piece of parchment.

When Harlan entered the room, Orion didn't bother to look up. He allowed seconds to pass by, his quill still scratching the surface of the parchment. Only when the silence between the two had stretched to the point of discomfort, did he lay his quill down onto the desk and glance up at the student standing in his doorway.

"You can put your wand down, Mr. Montgomery." His tone was mild, amused almost. It was almost cute, how he thought the wand would protect him. That he assumed he needed protection from Orion. His gaze flickered towards where the student's hand disappeared into his robes, "if I wanted to harm you, you wouldn't have made it through the door."

He pushed his chair back and stood, the wheels sliding against the stone tiling. He rose to his full height slowly, his eyes never leaving Harlan's face. "What exactly is it about this summer you wish to talk about?" He asked as he unrolled his sleeves absently, as if they were about to have a chat about the weather. He, of course, knew the real reason Harlan was here. It was the same reason most people eventually came out of hiding; he was tired of being afraid.

Asshole Professor Lécuyer and his stupid smug look just sitting on his face as though Harlan was the one that was stupid here. This was the issue with adults, they thought they knew it all and whatever kids had to worry about were either stupid or irrational or both. Harlan felt his face burning with a heat and an anger that there was literally a person who was meant to teach him and help him understand magic who actively was clearly unqualified for the job. Harlan would bet money that why he was so talented was because he probably was some dark wizard who was here for some nefarious reason!

With a forced exhale in trying to calm himself down, Harlan took a few steps closer to the man and with the words of putting his wand away the Gryffindor couldn't help but bring it out and kept properly it in his right hand. " If I could actually trust you, I wouldn't have had to wait months for this, Professor. " Maybe, just maybe, Harlan was being a little dramatic right now but this had been weighing on his chest so heavily that the idea to finally ask and talk about it felt like a dam at the verge of breaking. " What happened at the Wedding? I keep seeing hazy visions and you're in them along with Mister Athanatos. " It was evident that the emotions were welling up for this teenager who didn't know how to deal with such a traumatic event. " And my dad's not willing to tell me anything. So, if he's not willing to, then i'll just go down the line until someone talks about what or who possessed me there. "

As Harlan's wand made a proper appearance Orion didn't bother to look down or even draw his own wand. He could disarm him within a millisecond. Orion had ended many fights before they could even begin and he had done it without the use of his wand; he was gifted with both wandless and nonverbal magic. They often dropped before they knew what hit them.

The only reason he used a wand was to keep up appearances. Wandless magic unsettled people and nonverbal magic unsettled them more. When put together... Well, it made him into someone that people couldn't quite trust. They preferred their danger to be visible, which was understandable. Allowing them to believe in his need for a wand was a kindness. Peace of mind.

"Well," Orion started, a brow half rising. Harlan could be punished for something like threatening his professor. Luckily for him, Orion wasn't insulted. Fear often made people do stupid things... Like a fifteen year old kid trying to threaten a man who had been both an Auror and hit wizard for over a decade. "at least now you're being honest about wanting to attack your professor. Good. Keep it out."

He pushed off his relaxed position against the desk and took a step towards the teenager. Not too close, but close enough to remind him that space was something Orion controlled, like everything else in the room. "Ah, yes. The wedding. First half was lovely, can't say I cared for the second half. I'm thinking of doing something a little less pink for my own wedding." Orion's tone was familiar as he tried to slip back into the persona he used at work; the carefree professor who had too much of a sweet tooth.

He crossed the room towards the blackboard, his right hand grabbing the chalk as he begin to write down the topic of his next lesson. Grindylows. "The short answer is I don't know. It could have been a variety of things. I wasn't certain if you'd remember or if asking you would make the trauma resurface," he explained, his chalk gliding across slate. "I did what I had to do to protect you, as difficult as that is for you to believe."

"Your father likely didn't want to answer because he doesn't want to think of what sort of thing was inside your head." He paused, before his tone softened, "Because you don't get to go back to being some carefree kid who studies spells in textbooks after this sort of thing, do you?"
