π΄ronic as it was, Julia was bored. Even though she could go to the library, practice duelling, do homework, do some flying practice, take a stroll in the grounds, or watch the quidditch match, the young first year was bored. She tried reading, which, to her surprise, kept her bored, she tried to do some duelling practice on dummies, which also didn't help. Julia wasted an hour, and was still bored. She finally decided to just go to her dormitory and do.. nothing, except stare at the wall. As she was walking in the corridor, her boredom decided to go, and she suddenly got an idea. Upon seeing a small bucket, she got an idea of playing the old-fashioned prank. Of course, nobody would suspect that the 'dear ravenclaw first year' would have a michievious characteristic! The young raven wore a sly smile, as she turned walked faster, preparing for her prank.
β β β β β Julia walked into her dormitory and rushed to her trunk, deep in thought about what she might need. She didn't have a strong foundation for the prank yet, but she knew it would be small, and it most definetely would only take about 20 minutes to assemble. Her thoughts wandered back 6 years, when her family was still whole. She was 5 then, playing little pranks on her cousin and sister whenever possible. Julia's smile turned wistful as she plunged deeper, wanting to be that young, innocent, girl again. She remembered when they had come together to do a prank. It had resulted in the house temporarily turning blue, and them getting grounded, but despite that the thrill of planning, and executing the bad pranks had been fun. Julia could've gone on and on in these thoughts, reliving who she used to be, wondering whether she could have done something more to stop what happened, but she chose not to. Regrets were dangerous, memories even more. Julia snapped back to the present, and gathered a few things she might need, then got up and raced back down. Whatever happened, happened, right now, she had a prank to execute. β β β β β |

A Joint Operation
Joseph had always been abysmal at Potions, but itβd never been this bad.
Maybe he'd added too many pufferfish eyes that day, or stirred too much in the wrong direction. Either way, nothing could have prepared him for the vile pink fluid that reeked of rotten cabbages and troll fart. He'd gagged at the potion. Someone coughed. A dose of Josephβs Pinky Stinky could probably take out a fully grown mountain giant.
Needless to say, another T for potions.
Great. Just what he'd needed.Β
βYou're lucky you don't have a nose,β Joseph said, playfully pressing down on the spot between his pet rock, Astra's two googly eyes. He'd stowed her away in his pocket during Potions, far away from the funky ingredients and the professor's prying eyes. The last thing he needed was for someone to think her a bezoar and chuck her down their throat.Β
βWell, you're safe now. Sorta.βΒ
Joseph giggled to himself as he darted up the stairs, huffing pants while thudding his boots against the steps. Hogwarts was a labyrinth of staircases β most of which seeming to have been designed specially to send students tumbling down to their demise. Wicked. Wicked but brilliant. Part of Joseph wished the stairs fired choco-sludge at unsuspecting students too, though perhaps that role was reserved for Peeves.Β
He glanced up, almost expecting to see the poltergeist whistling overhead. He'd always admired Peeves, maybe envied him a little. An indefinite lifetime of irritating students. What could possibly be more entertaining than that?
Footsteps him out of his thoughts. He blinked, then settled his eyes on the girl striding past. She held a small bucket. Joke supplies. Their gaze met for a moment, and he recognised the mischievous glint straightaway. Leave it to a prankster to identify another.
The edges of his lips curled up in a delighted smirk.Β
βIn a hurry to go prank someone?β He blurted, cocking his head to the left. It was hard to hide the wild gleam in his eyes.
He slid Astra back into his pocket, then stopped in his tracks. He waited for the girl to follow suit before adding, βhi, Joseph here. Mind if I join you?β
