—YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE CARDS YOU ARE DEALT; JUST THE WAY YOU PLAY THE HAND.
In poetry, it was universally acknowledged that snow was pure, something so peaceful like the whisper of dawn. But in her very objective personalized opinion, snow was nothing but a grim, rotting slush that also just happened to be her sworn enemy. Did her absolute hatred of winter promoted it? Probably. The season itself made vines of uneasiness creep into her like a parasite, leeching and sucking all her vigor. The thought alone of the icy, freezing wind brought her unwanted traces of the past, leaving a sour taste in her mouth. And not the sourness of acid pops she loved so dearly, but the sourness of fermenting garbage. Even still, she somehow found herself on a school made of icy gates of winter. Koldovstoretz. Hence, it was unnecessary to say she loved the howling wind currently trying to ravish her curls and freeze her altogether.
With the pleasant thought of adding the termination of winter in her list of Top Ten Things To Do With Adult Magic, she tread dragged on with great resilience and show of courage. On the drag path On the walk she nearly forgot the reason she came here in the first place, the almost historical event in her years of school. The International Magical Olympic Games. An event of contests and glory. Perhaps in other circumstances, she may have participated in the games itself—just out of pure spite—but this was neither the place or the circumstance. Hands worrying the brass locks, she glanced at the company she was currently in. Sighing dramatically, “Oh yes, nothing like hypothermia on a fine sunday.” The warm four-poster bed of hers was now one of the most enviable thing she could think of now.
In the midst of an intense yearning for her dorms, she almost missed the tent that was quite hard to miss. In a speed that she didn't believe she possessed til of now, she almost flew into the room. Perhaps she should consider broom racing, after all. The effect was immediate, numb limbs growing warm by the second. Her exhaustion finally caught up with her, and would've fainted right then and there if not being struck by the vision before her. Pillows upon pillows, it was probably the first time she saw such a multitude of pillows. How could she describe it eloquently? In the most simplest terms, it was a reasonably stupid dream she harbored from the early stages of childhood. An extreme amount of purple and blue were scattered across everywhere, the tent itself seemed to glow in a faint violets. There was not a second to be spared, as she dropped like dead weight in what seemed like heaven, for now. She could hear words from crystal floating somewhere across her head, not completely registering.
A glance up, a sincere grin spreading across her face for probably the first time on the day, “Bold of you to assume I would be leaving here in the first place.”
