Olivia had woken up quite early this morning, she had a prank to exacute and therefore she had skipped breakfast. She enjoyed feasting after a successful prank, well after a fail or success to be quite honest.

Olivia had found the perfect spot in the corridors with a hiding spot close by. She began setting it up, it would have been a lot quicker if she had magic as an aid but she didn't know all the spells that would have come in handy, so the old fashion muggle way had to do. She had created a trip wire across the floor using invisible string and had attached it to a bucket filled with glitter and green slime. It wasn't any old slime, it was enchanted all thanks to her brother. The slime had been enchanted to stain the skin and leave the poor target looking greasy for 24 hours and by adding glitter to that it would make them look like a sparkling, green, greasy idiot.

However it had taken her a bit longer than expected, due to the mechanics involved in this simple prank, luckily she had factored this issue, glad I woke up early, she thought. It was definitely worth it. She stood back admiring her craft before hiding in a small crevice to watch it all unfold. Olivia didn't have a specific target in mind but she had placed it where she was sure a Hufflepuff would not become one.

I hope this goes well, she wished crossing her fingers. It wasn't long until she heard footsteps, her ears perked up and she peaked out ever so slightly eagerly waiting. As the person came closer she realised that they were wearing a Hufflepuff creast, oh shoot. She quickly jumped out, "Wait don't move!" she shouted.

Lysander had woken up rather early this morning. He had a book he needed to return to the library, and he may have wanted to scout for a new one before it got busy. He had some breakfast quickly then hightailed it to the library. Unfortunately, he was still getting used to the castle's constantly changing staircases and wound up getting lost. Needless to say, he felt he had gotten up early for no reason this morning.

Regardless, he carried on the corridor, hoping he may run into someone who could give him directions, even just to another staircase. He was moving along the corridor, reading his book again for the last time in what would be a while once he returned it. While he was rather concentrated on his book, he was quickly snapped out of it with a sudden warning.

He looked up to see a Hufflepuff girl in front of him as he felt his left foot step down on a wire. He glanced up to see a bucket falling down in which he instinctively pushed the girl away with his book. He then felt the contents of the bucket, revealed to him to be green slime, now covered him. He glared at the Hufflepuff girl, "I'm going to assume this was you, Miss...?"

"Miss Cuthburt, but you can call me Olivia," she answered a little sheepishly, "I truly am sorry, it wasn't meant for you," she added feeling quite guilty especially since he had been so chivalrous by pushing her out the way. But at the same time she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed, all that hard work gone to waste, "You just had to ruin it though didn't you Mr.....?" she said with a sigh.

She was conflicted she didn't know how to proceed, she figured from the glare he was giving her that she was not about to make a friend, who even makes friend by pranking anyway, she thought. "Your going to be green and shiny for 24 hours," she informed the boy. "I don't have a way to reverse this, I guess fate intended this prank to be for you," she added a small smile forming on her face. At the end of the day her prank had not failed, it just happened to work on a nice Hufflepuff.

She offered him some tissue to clean his book and wipe the slime from his face, "I can walk you to the common room to get changed if you want," she offered. This way she had a chance to get to know him and potentially stop him from hating her. Olivia didn't always care about what people thought of her, well the important people had to think well of her, thats what her parents always said. In her eyes her fellow Hufflepuffs were important and therefore wanted to make sure she was liked.

Lysander attempted to wipe the slime off of him and his clothes, to little avail. Olivia, as she revealed, apologised and he could tell she was being sincere. Though she then clearly showed her annoyance at his triggering of her, evidently, premature prank. To her hint at wanting to know his name, he responded, "Mr Rootmourn. Lysander Rootmourn.".

At her reveal that this slime was going to stain him for 24 hours, the look on his face showed he wasn't exactly pleased with the development. It grew more sour when she mentioned the lack of a reversal. Being the victim of a prank which resulted in him being covered in slime and stained green for the next day wasn't exactly his idea of a 'good morning'. Regardless, he accepted the tissues with a "thank you" as he cleaned what slime he could from his face, hands and robes, and was exasperated to see his skin was stained green.

He was about to turn around to make his way back to the Common Room when Olivia offered to walk him there herself. He was close to saying an immediate 'no' and walk away with no further discussion. But, he recognised she felt guilty and didn't feel like knowing he was the cause of that. "Okay, I accept. Let's go then, Miss Cuthburt.". With that, he began to walk back the way he came, not really being bothered if she really accompanied him or not, he felt him accepting her offer freed him of any potential guilt regardless.

Olivia was half expecting Lysander to say no but to her suprise he accepted her offer. Lysander was clearly not overjoyed by her company but she was glad he was open to it. She smiled as she walked alongside him, the pair walked in silence for a bit, Olivia didn't know what to say, Come on you got this even if its not the ideal circumstance, she encouraged herself. "We could eat breakfast in the kitchens," she suggested, "That way you wouldn't be seen by many people," she added. And that way she wouldn't feel worse as other students might not notice him as much resulting in him not getting teased and laughed at as much.

Olivia did feel bad, a prank had never gone wrong like this before. But then again she always had a target in mind and this time she had made the targets too broad, you would think that makes it easier but clearly it makes it easier to also get someone you never intended to.

"You won't tell will you?" she asked a nervous chuckle escaping her mouth, she never planned on reveling herself to the target of her prank. She didn't plan on any of this, so she had no idea what to do.

He was tempted to accept her offer of eating in the kitchen, if purely to avoid as many people from seeing him like this as possible, but decided he'd wait until he got changed before deciding what to do next. That's how he preferred to do things after all: one step at a time; methodically... sometimes to his own detriment or weirdness. Regardless, he shrugged at the girl's suggestion as a 'maybe', as they continued to walk in silence.

She asked if he'd tell and that's when he made both of them come to a halt. He let out a sigh as he turned to face her and looked right at her as he answered. "No, I'm not. At the end of the day, nobody got hurt and I'll be fine by tomorrow, so I can live with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm very annoyed at this whole situation and you definitely owe me, but I see no reason to report you. If anyone asks, I'll just say it was a potion gone wrong.".

He began to walk again, motioning his head for her to follow. "Come on, we still have a fair way until we get to the Common Room. Then, I may take you up on that breakfast offer."

Olivia let out a sigh of relief, Lysander was a litte weird but he was definitely good weird. He didn't overreact to minor inconveniences and was quite understanding. Not many people would react that way, maybe it was because they were both fellow Hufflepuffs, she thought. Olivia fully understood the annoyance he felt towards her, who wouldn't feel that way, by having something go wrong in thier daily routine that could affect them for 24 hours. Honestly things may have gone a lot differently if she had laughed at him or got mad that he ruined her prank.

The invitation to continue walking with him was enough of a sign for her to know Lysander was going to forgive her and this would be a minor glitch in a very unforeseen friendship, should it become one. Olivia couldn't help but smile at the fact that he considered having breakfast with her, "What is your go to breakfast?" she asked hoping to start some sort of normal conversation. "I love a good french toast with maple syrup and berries, oh who can say no to a perfect english beakfast, or panckaes with chocolate and strawberries, and all this goes well with tea," she began to ramble. She now really wanted go get to know the laid back, chill, nice boy in her year, why had she never spoken to him? she thought, trying to remember his face in any of the lessons.

Lysander let the girl go on her small breakfast food ramble. Despite his displeasure at the situation, he could tell she wasn't a bad or ill-intentioned person. Mischievous, trouble maker, slightly bothersome, maybe, but not bad. They continued their walk as she rambled, passing the odd couple of students along the way, but he paid them little attention; acknowledging them only meant they'd have more time to know his face and remember him from this event, and he wasn't letting that happen.

Eventually, Olivia ended her ramble which allowed him to answer, "Well, personally I usually just have a bowl of cereal and a glass of apple juice, I'm not exactly a big eater per say. However, I don't mind the occasional toast for breakfast, nor the pancakes. Though, I'm afraid we differ on the pancakes, I can only have them plain... tea is a nice touch as well though."

He was a plain person in his own mind, and that showed in his choice of food. He was a simple guy with basic taste, though he remembered all his friends from home reacted upon hearing his choice of food (all kinds); some definitely saw as him as a very weird individual.

Olivia looked at him as though he had said something atrocious, "Really plain pancakes?" she asked unable to wrap her head around why someone would willingly choose that. Lysander was clearly different, she hated to admit it but if the situation was a normal one she may have teased him. He really wasn't someone she would befriend but I guess some circumstances make you open to different people, and he definitely didn't come across as someone who would ruin her reputation.

The pair swiftly took turns left and right, until they nearly reached the common room. This was taking a lot longer then she had anticipated even though she had tried to take the quickest route known to her. Hope he dosen't mind, she thought to herself as she grabbed his wrist and dragged him forward as she ran, "We need to get you to the common room before students start leaving the great hall to begin making their way to lessons," she informed. "Hope you don't mind being a little late," she added, worried that this might be another thing he may not be pleased with.

Olivia knew that once the corridors filled with students there would be no hiding and poor Lysander would become a laughing stock. This couldn't get worse she wouldn't allow it. They had to move quick in order for them to reach the kitchens undetected and minimise the teasing he was bound to recieve.
