Earlier in the year around June 18th he had gotten his Hogwarts letter meaning that he'd be going of course. Considering that they had plenty of time to pack him up they waited until the last five days of august before he had to leave.
My family well more so my grandma was working on getting the stuff I needed together for Hogwarts. My Grandma was digging around the attic for my dad's old school books and trunk. My Grandpa was giving me an odd sort of pep talk in the kitchen as I helped him make supper. I had been trying to convince him that I didn't need to go.
See kid Hogwarts ain't all bad you'll have fun and if you don't well you can come home for the holidays. But hopefully enough you'll like it too much to want to come home.
"Grandpa are you really trying to get rid of me all ready? "
I had thought to myself that maybe "he doesn't want me around anymore.." even though technically I was rather useful.
Nawh I just want you all smart like your father.
My Grandma came down from the attic with my dad's old school supplies.
Found em! They're a lil old but they're still useful.
My dad finally arrives home and I hear the twist of the doorknob and I just knew that it was my dad from his foot steps.
We're in here Edward.
My dad would walk in and ruffle my purple hair. "Why does he always do that..." I'd try to fix my hair. I was still upset that I had to go.
Hey kiddo. Oh is that my old trunk?
Yup!
Hmm I haven't seen it in ages and it still looks as I remember it.
I look at the trunk that was now sitting in the middle of the kitchen wondering "what in the fresh dragon droppings is that?" I would realize that I was going to be using my dad's old trunk. I would also then remember that I had Hogwarts ahead of me in less than a proper week.
"NO NUH UH I'M NOT GOING AND YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!!"
My hair flares an angry red. I did not want to go to Hogwarts I did not want new friends and I did not want to go anywhere. I felt as if they didn't want me around anymore and that feeling wasn't a good one.
Woah! Hey hey! Lotus it's fine deep breaths okay? You'll be fine I promise.
I was trembling with fear and anger but I do like my dad had asked.
Better?
"No"
I just couldn't help myself as I start to cry.Oh bud don't-
I ran off to my room crying before he could even finish his words. I didn't want to go so soon. I wished that I could stay on the farm.
I could hear my grandma from the kitchen say
Oh that poor poor boy. I do hope that he's a Hufflepuff he'd fit right in I think.
Nonsense the boy is full of good smarts he ought to be a Ravenclaw! Like his father!
I hear my grandfather pipe in. I plug my fingers into my ears I didn't want to hear them talking about Hogwarts. Especially because I didn't want to go.
My Grandma's cat would creep into my room and curl up beside me as I sat in my bed. I'd look at the fat black cat and whish I could take him with me.

Three days till the Hogwarts train
I woke up in my room having had fallen asleep without supper. My Grandma's cat had at some point during the night decided that he wanted to sleep on me.
I was sad that I'd have to leave him behind even though it would have been nice to have taken him with me to Hogwarts. Upon thinking about Hogwarts again this early in the morning made me groan and snuggle tight to the fat little thing.
" Mr. Chicken I'd like to take you with me but Grandma says I can't take you with me... and she said that if I were to get a pet that it ought to be an owl because they're useful."
I sigh. I'd much rather have a pet dragon but Grandma wouldn't she's adamant about me never having anything to do with dragons. She would be so mad if she knew that I enjoyed looking at the pictures of them she had tucked away in her Recipe box. My Grandma's brother worked with dragons and sent many pictures of them to her with the basics of the dragon on the back of the picture before he was eaten by one. Breakfast! Come on yall up and movin'
I hear my grandma shout from the kitchen. Mr. Chicken absolutely loves food so he shot up off of me and out of my arms and through the crack in my door like a whizz-bang. I'd get out of bed and clamber to the kitchen for breakfast. My Grandma had made pancakes. I'd sit down in my seat half awake with messy multicolor hair and tear streaks from the night before.
My Grandpa would come in from the barn
Weren't ya supposed
to help me feed the animals this morning?
I'd look down at my plate.to help me feed the animals this morning?
"sorry"
I'd mumble in a small voice. I knew that I should have been up earlier to help but I guess crying myself to sleep really made me sleep hard. My dad was up when my Grandpa got up as my dad went to work early in the mornings.

Two days till the Hogwarts train
I had calmed down from another melt down I had earlier in the day so now I was chopping wood in the barn. As that helped me calm down more as it was something repetitive and repetitive things were good. I remembered my Grandma telling me that she'd tell my dad to do the exact same.
I'd stop once I heard the very light pitter-patter of rain and I really didn't want to get wet or stuck in the barn but I had to feed the horses as I didn't yesterday morning.
I still don't wanna go away who's gonna help grandpa when I'm gone? Is he going hire some one? Will the horses and chickens like who he hires for help? I couldn't help but wonder as I climbed into the barns loft to get hay for the horses. Will I make friends? I wondered. I didn't have many people who I was able to consider friends as I was homeschooled do to the huge fact that I was a metamorphmagus and muggles would notice like they had done before and I was worried that the other kids at Hogwarts would tease me about it.
My Grandma would come into the barn with an umbrella.
Lotus?
"Yes ma'am? "
Do you feel any better about going?
"Um.... I--I'm not sure."
That's okay. I didn't know how to feel about going to Hogwarts my first time. Come on let's go back to the house.
She'd leave the barn and I'd follow her closely under the umbrella back to the house.
