Camp Half-Blood
OPEN TO EVERYONE!

Thrust, lower cut, block, step forwards.
That was the routine Fionnuala was following as she swung round a sword at eight am.
Most people would say it was too early to be practicing battle manoeuvres. In fact, most people would say that it was too early to even be out of bed. But, as Fio knew from experience, the best spots got taken up by ten am, meaning she would probably end up impaling someone. Not a good look.
She sat down for a moment, not because she was tired, but because she wanted to watch. In the distance, she could see some campers running around, playing like the young children that they were. She could remember when she had been like that - a young Demi-god aged eight, who had no idea of the danger she faced in the world. Then, a few days later, she’d been claimed by Athena. But, according to Elana, the leader of the Athena cabin, it had been obvious anyway. Having blonde hair, grey eyes, and strong mental capacities were a strong hint.
But, five years later, Fio still hadn’t met her mother, and, hadn’t seen her father since… well…
She stood up abruptly, and notched an arrow into her bow. She let it fly, and watched as it hit the bullseye.

Where’s that wood varnish
He was varnishing his Bow it had been a present from his father Apollo God of Archery, Music, Healing and the Sun
He had been doing archery practice when he noticed part of his Bow was scruffy. So had gone to get some wood varnish and shoe polish as well as a rag he had a saying ‘When you do part of something do the whole thing and do it well’ so he had spent the last two hours first applying first wood varnish and then waiting for it to dry then apply brown shoe polish and was packing away when he noticed that his varnish was missing after a while he found it under the bench he was at. He then went back to shooting arrows he was notching his tenth arrow when he noticed that one of the targets was wonky which was weird because he had straightened them 3 hours ago he went and investigated and found a mouse hole under it

Camp Half-Blood
@Mirada Johnson & @Nick JamesonSeven in the Morning, Mid-Summer"Mrrmmpppphhhhh..." Adena said, waking up. As a daughter of Athena, she probably should have been awake already, reading something or putting together some sort of strategy. She, however, definitely had a tendency to sleep in.
"Hey, y'all." she said, getting out of bed and reluctantly changing from her tank-top to her camp t-shirt and some jeans, a classic Camp Half-Blood look.
"Mornin', Fio." she said, once she was ready and out of the cabin. Fio, or Fionnuala, was one of her half-siblings, through Athena, and she clearly didn't have the same morning problems that Adi did, as she was already up and training. As Adi probably should have been at that point.
They didn't know each other too well, but well enough to recognize each other, she hoped. They did share a parent, after all! She'd been at camp when Fio came, a bit older than the girl. When Adi first got to camp, she'd been 6. She met Fio when she was 9, 5 years ago, when Fio was 8. Now, Adi was 14, and definitely a lot taller than before.
"Whoa, nice shot!" she said, seeing the arrow hit the bullseye. She went to the target next to the girl, pulling a dagger from her belt. She was typically armed, with throwing daggers on her belt and a sword on her back. Armor? Well, she was usually too lazy to put that on, especially in the mornings.
She threw the dagger, watching as it soared through the air. She knew she'd thrown it a bit too early, but she was tired, so not quite at her best. With a shink, it hit the target. About an inch to the left of the bullseye. She adjusted her grip, letting it fly again, at the right time.
Her past wasn't something she liked to think about, which was why she just simply never thought about it. If she could cover everything, the fact that she saw her mortal father be killed by a cyclops in front of her, with humor and happiness, then nobody would ever have to know. He is...or, rather, was, though the thought still upset her...a son of Thor, making her 3/4 God, but still just a demigod, according to the world. She was a bit Norse, though, and quite loved that fun fact. But, nobody knew about her true past, except that she came to camp at 6, doesn't have a family, and stays all year. She was planning on keeping it that way for a very long time.
"Do you want to go get some breakfast?" she asked Fio, feeling her stomach growl a bit. She hoped that there was something good to eat, because she was going with or without her sister. She was starving, since she'd been distracted by a good book on the theory of war the previous day, and she'd forgotten to grab dinner. Or lunch, for that matter. Yeah, she really needed to get better about that. She wouldn't be able to fight her best if she couldn't even remember to eat a bit of food during the day that wasn't just a protein bar.
While she was waiting for the other girl to answer, she unsheathed her sword, using it as a mirror. Her hair was a light silver-blond, much like her father's as well as the other Athena kids' hair, just a bit more silver. Her eyes, though? Her eyes were definitely her father's, with their piercing blue color. She quite loved the way she looked, on most days at least, despite it not being quite the 'classic' appearance for a daughter of Athena.
She liked to think of herself almost as the 'big sister' of the cabin. Elana, of course, was the Camp Counselor for the Athena Cabin, which was something Adi was hoping on taking over someday.
As for quests, she'd been on a couple before, just to recover various godly weapons and such. Nothing huge, only two in total, but two more than most of the other campers she'd seen. She supposed, with that sort of glory and reputation to uphold, she should spend some more time training. Alas, she could start that resolution later, but for now, she just wanted to get some pancakes!

Camp Half-Blood
Fio speaking
"Mornin' Fio."
Without even turning her head, Fio replied, "Good morning."
It was Adena, one of Fio's half-sisters. She'd been at camp when Fio arrived, however, in the five years, they still hadn't spoken more than polite greetings.
She released another arrow, and watched as it hit the bullseye.
"Thanks." Fio said, when Adena complimented the shot.
Fio stood back as she watched Adena throw the daggers at the target, but then turned sharply when she heard a sound behind her. Someone else had arrived at the shooting arena. And, to be honest, they were actually quite good at archery. Fio watched as he shot multiple arrows towards the target, and watched as they hit. Then, he walked over towards the targets, and crouched down. Fio walked up silently behind him, and then crouched down next to the target.
"You are sitting in an extremely dangerous position. Adena's a good thrower, when she's on form. She's got a 95 percent success rate. You don't want to get hit."
She looked at him, and thought - had she seen him before? Possibly in passing, but no conversations had taken place between them. She looked down at the ground, and saw a hole - a mouse had obviously made its home under the target.
"That mouse is in an even more dangerous position than you are."
She stood up, and lifted up the target, before moving it a metre or two to the side.
"Adena, do you have one of those granola style bars you usually have with you?"
Then, Fio stood up, and got a handful of leaves that had fallen off a tree nearby.
"Just wait a moment, and we can all get breakfast together. Maybe this will add to your reputation, Adena. Saviour of the mouse." Despite the weirdness of what Fio was saying, she spoke in a completely neutral tone. She walked over to Adena.
"Also, watch out. The Ares cabin needed someone to play with. That person was you. They are now telling everyone that you are dating Mathew from Dionysus. You know, the one who fell over in the mud during capture the flag. Although, he's actually dating Sophie from Aphrodite, despite the fact she said she was never going out with a Dionysus child after Aura got dumped. But, you should watch out. Even I don't know how many people they've told."

You would be surprised at my reflexes
He then went back to the end of the range sorting his arrows
He walked back when he heard something that interested him
What did I just hear
He came over from his target after hearing what Fionnuala had said.
I know for a fact the entire Aphrodite cabin knows the majority of the majority of the Hermes Cabin knows which means the entire camp knows he added brightly
He paused as he shot an arrow
He muttered What a millimetre of perfect annoying
He shot another arrow
Also I’d keep quiet about that there are already rumours that you have a crush on George you know the show-off from Aphrodite cabin so I suggest keeping your mouth shut or Ares cabin might start playing with you I still haven’t forgotten or forgiven them for what
They did to my Bow last summer any way there is a chariot race next week and I’m already planning my revenge also tell your half-brother Herces to be careful Susan from Aphrodite has a crush on him and shivering She means business he stopped to collect the arrows he had shot I heard her tell some other Aphrodite children during the last capture the flag

Camp Half-Blood
@Mirada Johnson & @Nick JamesonSeven-Thirty in the Morning, Mid-Summer"You're welcome, it was a really good shot! And of course I have a granola bar, is it for the mouse?" Adi asked, already figuring what was going on in her little sister's head.
"Oh, I'm sorry! Did I hit you? Just kidding, I know I didn't!" she said, as she walked over to the target. She crouched down to the mouse, giving it a bit of the bar in her hand, not enough for it to choke or anything, just enough to give it a breakfast. She picked the little thing up, gently moving it to somewhere that was not right below the targets.
"Oh, Fio, honey, I doubt my reputation needs too much of a boost. I don't really give a shi...shitake, Odin's Left Boot, there are kids around, about what other people think of me. Also, with the whole two quests thing and, as you said, '95 percent accuracy when on form', I think I'll be okay! But there you go, mouse saved!" she said, checking to make sure the little guy scurried away to somewhere safer than the targets.
"Someone to play with? Me? Dating a Son of Dionysus? Wow, as if!" Adi said, laughing a bit. Not meanly, just a bit surprised.
"Trust me, kid, this isn't the first time someone's said something like that, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Mathew is cute, I'll give him that, but still not my type. Which, I don't need to be getting into with the two of you!" she said. Imagine that, her dating a son of the god of wine. Huh, wouldn't that be something?
"Yeah, I know he's dating Sophie, they're so cute, right?" she said, thinking about the couple. She did not want to be the one to break anything like that up, whether because of a rumour or not. Great, that meant she had to put a stop to it. How best to do that...
Her stomach growled, quite upset with her for not yet eating some food. She was waiting for the other two to be ready, because she didn't want to leave them alone. Between the Ares Cabin's whole bullying thing and the Hermes Cabin's pranks, it just wasn't a good idea to leave two kids out in the training side of camp on their own.
"Wait, is someone saying I have a crush on George, or that Fio does? Because, if it's me, once again, not my type!" she added, beginning to pull her daggers out of the bullseye.
"Speaking of people 'playing with each other', don't you just love camp pranks? Oh gods, they're so funny! Do you remember that one time the Ares Kids released a boar in the Big House? Or when the Apollo Kids used an arrow the Hermes Kids stole from Cupid and shot it at the Demeter Cabin? Oh, that was so funny, the plant people were all smitten and it was so funny!" she said, laughing at the memory of the incident. She'd been what, 12, maybe 13, and it was absolutely hilarious!
"Speaking of which, aren't you an Apollo Kid? If so, were you part of the prank? And if so, do you know how to convince Hermes Kids to give you back something they stole? They took...something...from me, and I want it back, and don't feel like a full siege this early in the morning." she said. It was the truth, the Hermes Kids had taken one of her throwing daggers from her sheath belt(where she kept all of her throwing daggers, her actual fighting ones were sheathed in an 'x' across her back) while she was asleep and had taken it off. She had 5 throwing daggers in total, and was now down to 4, which was not cool. She'd crafted each of her weapons on her own, and that one dagger had taken her hours with the Hephestus kids to make. Though, she wasn't complaining, some of those boys were fine, gods damn! By the name of Thor, it was so distracting!
GROWL!!! said her stomach, for like the millionth time, and she finally decided that she was done waiting for the other two.
"Okay, I'm leaving to go and eat some food! You can come if you want, and if you don't, that's on you!" she said, sheathing her 4 remaining throwing daggers and checking to make sure that her fighting daggers were both there. She began to walk, waiting to see if they would catch up to her or not. She really wanted some food, and also perhaps a glimpse at Liam from the Ares cabin...but she would never say that! Not in a million years! Well, maybe if he said something first, but she most definitely would not be the one to start that conversation!

Camp Half-Blood
@Mirada Johnson & @Nick JamesonSeven-Thirty-Three in the Morning, Mid-Summer"Wha...who...Lia...huh...that's crazy! Me, like him? Oh, could you imagine that! I think it's time for breakfast now!" Adi said, turning a very distinct shade of pink. Stupid perceptive people, always sticking their little noses into things. In the name of Thor, do they have to notice everything?
"And, for your information, the suggestion of the cabin team-up was because the combination of Wisdom and War working hand-in-hand would have been excellent and led to a sure victory." she said. Though, her and Liam hand-in-hand was another thought entirely...
Focus! She needed to focus! Food, walking, yes! Ignore all other things! Odin's Left Boot, why do these things need to be so difficult? Besides, she didn't have time for silly little things like crushes and boys and all those things, she had other things to focus on. Like the fact that everyone seemed to be gathered all around, she noticed, as she, Ant, and Fio walked in. Lovely, what could possiblybe going on now?
"Hello, you insufferable puny semi-mortal children. The awesomely amazing other gods have told me to tell you all that there is a quest going on, yay. They will be coming tomorrow to pick out which ones of you lucky people get to risk your lonely little lives to go serve them. Anyways, enjoy breakfast." Mr. D says, in his usual manner.
Wait, a quest? Well, she'd already been on two, and the gods wouldn't choose her for another one, right? I mean, they have to spread out some of the glory. Or do they? They are, after all, the gods, so they could make their own decisions. But she really didn't want that decision to be her.
By the gods, she really didn't want to do another quest, not right now. She was tired, she was fed up, and she was also scared of dying. I mean, even a Daughter of Athena isn't prideful enough to think she won't die. Adi nearly had died on her last quest, recovering Ares' damn spear, when there was a Cyclops, and she remembered how her dad was killed, and it was just a whole thing, okay? She got the eye scar from that quest, which did look badass but also hurt pretty bad, and she almost bled to death from many injuries. Anyways, needless to say, she was a bit scared of being sent on another quest and getting killed.
But, she had nothing to worry about, because it's not like she was going to get picked for another quest, right? I mean, the odds of that were practically zero.
But, of course, 'practically zero' doesn't mean that it's impossible.
"Can you believe this?"
"Wouldn't it just be amazing to go on a quest?"
"They're choosing us for their dirty work again?"
"Oh, I really hope I get picked!"
Those and so many more whispers(and non-whispers, mainly shouting from the Ares and Hermes Cabins) broke out all across the Dining Pavillion. Adena went to sit down with her sisters and brothers(well, half-siblings technically), listening to their conversations, which were mainly about the 'architecture of choice' and the fact that 'the statistical chance of one of us getting picked is quite high', and being bored out of her mind.
She wondered what Liam was thinking, or talking, about. Probably nothing as boring as this, since some of those Athena Kids were starting to really annoy her.
Of course, because she was annoyed, the random thoughts began to kick in again. You know, the thoughts of 'what if I reorganized my whole bunk', or 'what if I gave myself another piercing?' Wait, the piercing one may not be a bad idea, she wanted a nose piercing anyways! She knew how to do it, she'd done hers herself(she had 5, maybe 6 in each ear, she couldn't keep track at this point), so what would one more be?
"Hey, Fio, do you want your ears pierced?" she asked, leaning over to where she was sitting, deciding to offer it to the younger girl as well. She didn't know if she even had her firsts yet, but she still wanted to see if she'd be interested!
What still made Adi feel a bit uncomfortable was the fact that some of the campers, especially the younger ones, gave her a wide berth sometimes. Like when she leaned over to Fio, some others leaned back as if to get away from her. Whatever, if they were scared of her or some shit like that, that was there problem, and she had enough of her own, so she didn't need to make it hers.

There is a quest tomorrow
What
Yeah Mr D announced it just before you came
I’m thinking of going on it
He had a reminder of his last quest
It had involved fighting Hydra, Cyclopes, and most annoyingly the sea of monsters all to get a singular lost arrow for Eros and Anteros. He was still annoyed about that because of being turned into a guinea pig for a day.

“George? He’s an idiot. He’s also the only camper I’ve ever punched. Honestly, when people make up rumours, they should do their background research. Also, Sarah can do so much better than Herces. No offence to him, but he’d probably forget she exists in less than a week.”
When Anthony mentioned Liam, Fio sneakily nudged Adena, and held back a laugh.
However, when we got into breakfast, Fio fell silent. She listened the best that she could to all of the gossip about quests. They sat down, and she kept listening. However, then, she noticed Adena leaning forward, so turned her head to face her.
“Ugh, no. No way am I having my ears pierced.”
Fio flicked one of the purple strands away from her eyes.
“You don’t want to go on the quest.” Fio said to Adena. “Well, I’m pretty certain I know vaguely who’ll get picked. It’s the same for most quests. They want one long-range, and one short-range fighter, both of whom can preferably fight both if necessary. Then, they’ll pick someone who’s directly related to the quest. Also, they’ll probably pick people between the ages of 12 and 16, as if they’re any older, they’ll attract too many monsters. Therefore, it’s quite obvious who’ll be chosen.”
