Appereance

Most of the time, a vision of a respectable fellow. His recent crushed ego caused by a recent disastrous blind date - hidden behind a pair of stylish glasses and relaxed polite smile. His dark almost cooper-ish hair neatly styled as if to suit the formal tux he tends to like wearing.He stands at a 5’9 ft. His dark eyes compliment the gentlemen like appearance he often tries to look. You - especially women - will never catch him wearing sweatpants, tank tops and plastic sandals. To stay healthy and hot, he makes it his goal to frequent the gym. Ensuring he was fit and lean enough that if a pretty lady so happened to pass by, they'd glance his way and perhaps sparks may fly. …This time.

History/Background Story:

Being the oldest child with 8 younger siblings, in a lower class family with parents that are intense about you being the first in the family to get a high paying job is not for the weak. Sako could never understand those who preferred going back in time to be a child again. To him, he hadn't been able to get that sort of luxury. His childhood involved a lot of pushing through late night study sessions at the empty end of the family restaurant, while you hear your parents busying themselves in the kitchen, free babysitting, and obeying whatever his parents commands him to do.

His parents, Kanon & Hayate Sako were wizardborn staff workers in a normal family restaurant. Even when they choose not to reached higher education, they certainly made it a huge deal for Sako to pursue his. Seeing education as a way out of their difficult lifestyle. Their. Not his. As the oldest, there were no 'things he wanted', but more so 'things he could do for his family'. His youth was… as he bitterly puts ' robbed '.

Still, he was driven by the promise of a good life after he traded his youth to grind for his future. Aim for being a representative, Sako. Be a club leader, Sako. Get golden robes by the time you're a 4th year, Sako! Bosses will want to hire you and girls will admire you! It'll make his education in Mahoutokoro worth it. Who cares if he never had a friend group or a girlfriend. Those things are sure to come to him after he graduates with golden robes.

And he finds out pretty fast that while his achievements does attract first dates, 2nd dates are…. rare. Enough to be able to count on his hands.

His academics quickly got him a steady job, at least. Working up his way from a personal aide, to a student lawyer, and finally finding comfortable as a lawyer. Every time he feels like his life gets better, he gets dumped over and over again. Frustrated between feeling like he needed no one with a career like this, and yearning for someone special enough to complete his life.

At 27. fate bought him together with someone - finally. The relationship extending more than 1 year got him excitable about finally completing a hard earned chapter in his life. Even going as far as making a big career change simply because his now fiancee said he wanted to be with someone who lead the next generations youth instead of a lawyer with flimsy morals to adjust to a clients best interest. That was perhaps a red flag, but Sako hadn't thought of it until after he had already applied to be a headmaster to his old academy: Mahoutokoro. On the dinner where he wanted to share her the good news, she had shared hers first. She admits to be developing feelings for someone else, requesting to end their engagement with teary eyes and tears streaming down her face.

With his ego shattered, and his pride drowning out his despair, he thought that being a headmaster at Mahoutokoro was the real blessing in disguise. Now all he had to do was hide the fact he envies the youth, and be a headmaster that is good enough to be able to rub it in his ex's face and her snotty little new boyfriend.

Kotoka Sako. Mahoukotoro headmaster. He quite liked how that sounded.

First instance of magic::

Being a wizardborn, and growing up in the magical community, it was bound to happen at some point. All started with his mothers attempt to bring him out to grocery shop with her at age 6, while his father worked late. Sako unfortunately, was a rather fussy child that excitably wanted everything in the store. Not understanding yet that money was a concept, he was forcibly carried away from the store to avoid unwanted looks at his temper tantrums. On the way out he sees a boy slightly older than him carrying a basket of goods. Perhaps it was the way this boy wore the same colored shirt as him, or the way their hairs were styled the same way. Sako's tantrum went for the worse.

Heightened by his rage of envy, a few items from the cart levitated from the cart. Round shaped items covered in wrap flung straight to Sako. With haste of panic, his mother turned her body to shield Sako from the 2 items directed to them. The items though - seemed to be soft enough not to cause her injury upon impact before they fell to the floor.

Sako hadn't remembered much after that. Only his mother frantically apologising to the other boy's parent while his stopped his crying and looked down at the circle shaped items. He still remembered what it said.

Bleh.

And he found out years later it wasn't bleh, but brie. But more importantly, a few months later a potted plant with a miniature cherry blossom tree showed up at their small studio apartment. Signalling the early start of Sako's education in Mahoutokoro at age 7 in day school.

Positives
Takes Initiative
When Sako sets his mind to it, he tends to do it well. Even when his interest changes as often as fast fashion trends do, he knows how to go after things he wants. His ambition to his long term goals ( and more commonly, his dating side quests ) had often landed him great opportunities career wise. Eventually, even landing him as a headmaster in Mahoutokoro.

Honoring Tradition Values
He is the son most conservative parents would love their daughter to marry (yet one has to ask why no daughter wants to marry him) . To elders, higher ups, he values tradition, politeness, and believes the practice of tradition makes up for a good foundation. He is a stickler for rules when set in place, and willing to go an extra mile to make himself look good - er I mean - practicing tradition as to honor his culture and the community that build it generations ago.

Friendly / Welcoming
Despite his shortcomings, he is often eager to get to know someone in the beginning. He finds it fulfilling to get to know someone. Even if it's to just to find out in what whats he is better than them or to see if they have a cute sister around his age. Whether it's other peers, older adults, he is often seen smiling sheepishly and doing his best to be accommodating to their needs, wants and interest.


Negatives
Rigid Beliefs
Stress, pressure and tear-streaking challenges helps one grow the best, or so he thinks. Foreigners often ( not always! As his counsellor often reminds him to say) don't fully understand how to truly be in Japanese culture. Children and pets have 1 thing in common. They should not make noise and only interacted with when really need to. Those are just some of his opinions . Sako is the type to believe only what he sees, and he is pretty determined he wont see anything unless he had personally experienced otherwise. This leads him to be judgemental of people quicker from a quick glance. He tends to lose his friendly persona when interacting with students that don't have navy or golden robes, or foreigners.

Stubborn
Once he makes up his mind about 'how the world is', he uses whatever narration he can come up with to make himself feel higher, better, and the smarter person in the room. He has little interest in understanding the others perspective, because he's always right. And if he isn't - then people just don't understand him enough to see it. He may attempt to listen to someone else's perspective, but it is in one ear and out the other.


Emotionally Immature
Certified whiner for those who know and hanged out with him long enough. While he puts up a good welcoming facade, he is deeply resentful of many things, like women, talented people, etc. Often blaming them for his shortcomings, and never truly taking sincere accountability for his mistakes. This leads him to often categorize if people around him as losers or winners. Thinking himself as a loser that had to climb through hell to be a winner. He blames his lack of personal fulfillment on how he is not enough rewarded enough for all the work he put in before.

He has a bad habit related to this that he often shows during first dates.

Cheese
Particularly fond of brie, but open to trying out whatever kinds that are available. Even the cheap slice cheese.

Impressing women
Time is running out, and he doesn't want to hide again when his birthday comes around just to be asked when he's going to get married.

Romance Manga
Started to study the ways of wooing women, but he ended up liking the genre too much. Secretly daydreams about being chased as the main character in a shoujo manga.

Sometimes….. stupidity can't be cured. Best to focus on the students that actually put in effort in their education.

The ex he has yet to get over was from America, and now with some british boyfriend last time he hears. And he hasn't quite let it go yet

As someone who likes to daydremaing about what his wedding will be like, he deplores anyone who happens to remind him of the reality of his single status.
