Unfortunately his parents died when he was 7. They where killed by a fiendfyre spell cast by one of their enemies. Solar barely made it out alive. His uncle Richard then took him in after the incident.
He suffers from depression, because of it. He deals with his depression by reading a vast majority of books, listening to music and reading people's future from tarot cards.
He had a lot of rich friends growing up and his parents where influenceable people. Most of the community looked up to his parents and he himself had people liking him, because of his charm and intellect.
His first accidental use of magic was when he was 5. He was simply reading one of his books when he noticed books floating around him. He was initially shocked when it happened, but afterwards he felt on top of the world. His parents where shocked when they found out, but eventually they came around and told him it was okay and that their not mad.
