Books and new friend
During her first day, Lya had mostly kept to herself. It's not that she didn't want to meet other first-years, but she found it intimidating. She was never sure how to approach, what to say,... Scared that she'll be judged, or, even worse, laughed at.
Oliver, her big brother, had walked her to her first class that morning. So she didn't have the problem of getting lost in the castle. He ruffled her hair before leaving, wishing her a good first day.
It had gone by fast. Faster than she would have thought. Towards the end of the day, just before dinner, she needed some peace and quiet.
And what better place for that than the library ? She walked in with no specific purpose, hoping to just wander off in the endless aisles, and maybe find an interesting book.
The place was huge. Books from ground to ceiling, some dustier than others. She took a moment to glance around, then she started walking. Her steps led her in a quiet corner of the library, where shelves displayed books about magical creatures.
Quickly, Lya's eyes sparkled as she browsed through the many books--there were so much more than at her house. She started to grab some, and quickly, her arms were overloaded with various sized books.
She turned to leave the aisle, but she bumped into something--
"Ow !" she exclaimed. Half her books fell to the ground, and she landed on her butt.
"Oh-"
Her books must've have blocked her vision, because Lya hadn't bumped into a pillar, she had bumped into someone.
Lya's cheeks flushed a little.
"I'm sorry", she started picking up the books around her, "I wasn't looking"

Evaline didn't like peace and quiet. Not much. She enjoyed chaos, beautiful, beautiful chaos. But, there was one exception. The blessed library.
Back at her house, she has her own library. She remembered how her sister-in-law, Alara, had let her decorate it any way she liked, and the first thing Evaline did was put heavy black and pink curtains on the windows. She really didn't like the sun.
Now, she was heading to the library at Hogwarts. She was wearing a pink and black cardigan, and a matching skirt, and a pink headband. Her glossy black ( and pink) mess of a hair was thrown into a claw clip messily.
She strutted through the library, hoping to find some novels as well as history books. She skimmed through the isles, yanking any book that intrigued her into her arms. Evaline turned around the corner, and- BAM!
Her books all fell from her arms, and she stubbed back into a shelf, holding her head. What was that?
Oh.
It was a girl, she had ran into. Crap. The girl mumbled an apology, as she picked up the books around her.
" It's all right." Evaline said, bending down to help gathering the books. She got a good view of the girl. Wide eyes, and lots of brown hair. " It must have been my fault, sorry." Evaline said. She was always running into people, she was used to it.

After picking up her books, cheeks flushed, Lya looked up at the girl she had run into. She had black and pink hair, and a very cute outfit. She was different from her, but Lya felt they could get along well. Call it a gut feeling.
Lya got up, and also helped the girl gather her own books, brown curls falling around her shoulders as she did so.
"It's okay, I'm quite clumsy too" Lya lets out a small laugh, her green eyes looking into the girl's.
Lya wondered what she thought of her. Well, in a way, she had just ran into her, so maybe it wasn't the best way to introduce herself, but it's still something, right ? She just hoped she hadn't blown her chance just because she hadn't been paying attention.
As she handed the last book to the black-haired girl, she recognized a familiar green cover. It was a muggle storybook her mother used to read to her. And it was one of her favorite story. Her eyes widen in surprise.
"Oh my god, is that--" She asked, the end of her sentence catching in her throat as she turned the book over to get a better look at it.
"I love this book", Lya explains. "It's one of my favorites"
