Another day, another lesson in transfiguration. If Max were free to choose he would never attend another class in this subject ever again. He could see the usefulness, no problem with that. It seemed it could come in hand with artistic expression as well. Very, very useful for lots and lots of things. That however didn’t change the fact that Max felt completely lost. Ever since the very first lesson with all of the particles and atoms and all other stuff an object consisted of, Max didn’t have a clue. He understood it, or at least he thought so. But there was simply so much complicated theory he felt behind before they even got started. With the least amount of joy he could possibly inhabit he made his way to class just in the nick of time to not be considered late.

He mumbled an apology to the professor as he passed the front of the classroom zeroed in on the only vacant seat he could spot. It wasn’t in the back where he preferred to sit, but in the front and off to the side. Thankfully it was at least next to the windows! He would have to make due. Dropping his satchel on the desk before diving into it head first in search of supplies. A rather tattered copy of the textbook was the first to exit. Thrown down on the desk, Max dove deeper into his satchel in search of writing supplies. Parchment found! A bit ripped, but at least not covered in spilt ink. Ink was next. Thankfully the bottle hadn’t leaked any, like the countless times this fall. Feeling along the bottom of his satchel he finally smiled triumphantly and pulled out… a broken quill. Looking down at his treasure turned thrash he raised his eyebrows. He didn’t carry another on him. Why walk about carrying something that in most cases weren’t needed? Moving his gaze, it naturally fell to the girl sitting by the desk next to him. She seemed like a smart one. She probablynever went anywhere without an extra quill. Leaning a bit down and towards her from where he was standing he rather loudly whispered «You don’t happen to have a spare quill that I could borrow, do you? I promise to give it back as soon as class is over!»
