My Sorting

I was so nervous, yet so excited. I couldn't wait for The Sorting, but I was so thankful for the minutes before it. I was thinking this over and over and over again while I waited for my name to be called out. Finally, there it was. "Sands, Astra!" The voice seemed to wake me up from a deep sleep. With bravery I didn't know I had, I walked confidently out towards the stool, and my future. I sat down, and the famous hat was placed upon my head. Ooh, loves reading... Passion for animals... Hufflepuff, maybe? No, that doesn't seem right... Too brave... Oh, I know... GRIFFINDOR! I happily made my way over to the cheering mass of red and gold. This would be my family, my home for the next few years at Hogwarts. And though I admit I was surprised, I was happy with it.

For the next few days, I just did my normal Hogwarts life, like wandering about the castle (Which is not normal actually) and doing my lessons and homework. I love being at Hogwarts because it feels like a home, like a sanctuary. It feels comforting to know my mother walked these same halls.

I say "My favourite book's Skandar. It's about unicorns." The boys laugh. The girls whisper to their friends, giggling. I say, "Bloodthirsty unicorns."
