Transfigurations... it was the one class I couldn't seem to bear. I wasn't bad at it- I was actually pretty well-advanced in the subject, it was just such a bore to me to talk about particles and molecular structures and atoms for an hour. Every time I entered that room, I couldn't help but roll my eyes- especially when the same girl would raise her hand to answer everyday- Tina Carille.

"God, she gets on my nerves." I would always scoff to myself. Her constant question-answering made me think of her as a stuck-up teacher's pet. "That's all Ravenclaws are anyway, kids that think they're smarter than everyone." I scoffed over my thoughts on my way to class, grumbling.

Once I entered the room, I took my usual spot in the back, middle of the room, only a row lay between Tina and me, exhausting me even more. Today was different, though. When Tina- as usual- raised her hand to answer, and her voice came out scratchy and hoarse, a satisfied smirk came to my lips.

I couldn't help but laugh at the Ravenclaw, my laughter not loud- but not quiet either- just enough where she could hear. As she sat down, I crossed my arms with a satisfied smirk, "Cat got your tongue, little birdie?" I mocked with a light scoff, just loud enough for her to hear me before raising my hand to answer.

When I was called on to answer, I stood and spoke confidently, "Turning a matchbox into a needle is a transformation, so you only need to rearrange the particles in the molecular structure, requiring only imagery of the needle." I smirked as I sat back down, knowing I got the question right, and I shot the Ravenclaw a satisfied, cocky grin as I sat back in my chair, crossing my arms. "Your move, little birdie." I mouthed in her direction as my eyes lay confident.

I roll my eyes at her friend's glare, "Does she really think she's intimidating?" I glare at her friend, Olivia, returning the rude look. When I see Tina defeatingly mouth back the words, "I'm not a little birdie." I smirk and scoff, mouthing back at her "yes you are." with an impossible smirk.

I wasn't going to be shaken, I knew that. Though seeing her friends stick up for her made my jealousy slightly rise. My friends weren't in this class, the only person I could consider being "friends" with was the Gryffindor boy I sat next to, who hardly ever spoke a word to me or anyone in the class.

Rolling my eyes, I didn't care to lower my voice as I spoke to the boy next to me, "What's her deal with being perfect anyway? It's not like there's any point to it." I scoff after speaking, still looking at him, though I can feel Olivia's glare still on me as I watch the boy shrug without a word, making me roll my eyes and turn back to face the front.

"She's just jealous because your notes are actually legible." I heard ring out from two rows ahead of me, making me scoff and scowl. "My notes are legible." I mutter to myself, looking at my neat handwriting, but painfully messy notes. I scoff as I think to myself, "It's not like I actually need them anyway.". I give another glare to Olivia before tossing a balled-up note that lands right in front of Tina that reads, "Cat got your tongue, little birdie?".
