Laasya and her parents had just got her pet cat and were about to go to Potage’s Cauldron Shop to get cauldrons for potions when everyone began to get hungry. They had left the house at 2pm and in their rush, did not have their lunch. “There has to be a nice restaurant somewhere here.” Said Laasya’s mother. For 10 whole minutes they searched here and there, but they could not find a restaurant anywhere.
After some time, they ended up at Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour. “I have some apple slices in my bag, how about you go inside and get an ice cream while we have the apples.” Laasya’s father said. “Here is 5 galleons.” “Who knows what they use in the ice cream, it might not be healthy!” Her mother replied. “Come on Meena, let your daughter enjoy, she will be very busy once she goes off to Hogwarts!” Her father retorted. “Fine, fine but don’t say I didn’t warn you.” Her mother replied giving in. Laasya was amazed. Her parents rarely allowed sweets, and she had only eaten ice cream once. “Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Laasya shouted as she skipped happily to the parlour.
Laasya was excited to get something yummy. “Ice cream, here I come!” She thought as she entered it. But alas, there was something between Laasya and ice cream, a line! There were about 15 people in it, maybe even more, as it was summertime. And the kid in the front was taking forever to decide what to get. Laasya groaned as she joined the line.

Ice cream With a Friend
"Hmm, what is this place?" Rosalyn asked, mumbling the words under her breath. She'd been shopping for her supplies for a really long time at that point, and she had wandered across this shop.
"Oh my goodness, ice cream? Yes please!" she said, mumbling yet again, as she walked into the welcoming-looking shop.
She went in and immediately saw a whole new side to the Wizarding World she was (apparently) part of. It was cozy, amazing, and overall smelled delicious! She walked over to the line of what looked to be fifteen, maybe sixteen people all waiting to order. Quite a bit of people, but with it being summer and all, it made sense.
She wished her parents could see this, but they were at work and didn't understand the Wizarding World either, so they wouldn't have been much help anyways.
She saw a pretty-looking girl right in front of her in the line. She had on a cute outfit, pretty different than Rosalyn's style. She had on a sage-green sweater and leggings, with her curly hair pulled into a bun so it didn't get in her way while she ate. The other girl, however, had on a crop top with a jacket and her hair pulled into a high-ponytail. She looked like an undercover model while Rosalyn looked like a librarian. Eh, it could be worse.
"Hello there! Are you going to Hogwarts too?" she asked, deciding to just straight up find out and talk to this girl. The worst that could happen was the next few minutes becoming awkward, and the best that could happen was them becoming friends.

Laasya turned back. Another girl, probably her own age, wearing a pretty looking sage-green sweater had just said hi to her. And she was also about to go to Hogwarts! “Hello! My name is Laasya! What is yours?” Said Laasya cheerfully. “And yes, I am also going to Hogwarts soon.” She added. The kid in the front had finally decided what to get. “14 more to go!” Laasya thought to herself as she took a step forward.
“Are your parents wizards like you?” Laasya asked, deciding to strike up a conversation if the girl was interested. “Or are they muggles like my parents?” She added. “And did you have any friends growing up? I did not have many, only one.” Laasya continued. “Also do you have any siblings? I have none, it’s very quiet in my house.” Luckily the person only took a minute at the counter and was off. “13 more to go!” Laasya thought to herself.
“I’m quite surprised my parents allowed me to come here, usually they’re so obsessed with nutrition and health so they rarely never let me have anything sweet. I had ice cream only like once. What about your parents?” Laasya asked, excited that maybe, just maybe she was about to make a new friend.

"Nice to meet you, Laasya! My name is Rosalyn, but you can call me Rosie!" Rosalyn said, excited to be meeting someone else going to Hogwarts, especially someone this nice and friendly!
"No, my parent's aren't wizards, just me! That's fine though, just means that I should figure everything out myself! They aren't here right now, they're at work, but that's okay! Yeah, I did have friends growing up and still do, I keep in touch with them! Some friends but other best friends, I only have a few of those! “My hobbies?” Laasya asked, while scanning the line. “Well, I love reading and occasionally some writing! What about you?” She replied. There were only 8 people in there. They were getting close! “And what are you planning to get once we reach the front? I’m planning on getting a brownie almode.” She added. The line began to move again, now there were only 5 people in the line including Rosalyn and Laasya. There were getting really close!
“So do you have a pet?” Laasya asked, trying to strike up the conversation again. “I have one, a cat named Pearl. We just got her today while at Diagon Alley over at Magical Menagarie.” “And also, what house do you want to be sorted into? I heard there were four; Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. For me, probably Ravenclaw or at least Hufflepuff.” She added. The line moved, now there was only one single person in front of them! But sadly, this person was taking forever to decide!
Finally, after what seemed like 10 million years, the person finally left! Laasya went up to the counter. “One brownie almonde please.” Laasya said while paying the 5 sickles. Then she exited the store. “Bye, see you at Hogwarts!” She called to Rosalyn. Then she joined her parents, who were sitting eating apples. “What took so long? The wait was worth it, Laasya had gotten her treat and had made a new friend.

"Oh my goodness, I love to read and write too!" Rosalyn said, surprised and happy at the fact that they both had similar hobbies.
"Hmm, I think I'm going to try a Classic Sundae, but just without the nuts. I'm allergic!" she said, wondering if she could ask for no nuts. She was sure she could, or at least hoped so!
"My family has a dog, his name is Murphy! I want to get a pet of my own, perhaps someday!" she said, thinking about what she could get. She didn't know too much about magical pets, so she supposed she'd have to look into that later.
"I don't know too much about the houses, so any of them would be fine with me! Perhaps Ravenclaw?" she said. She had done some research, but she'd literally just found out she was a witch, so she hadn't had too much time.
"Goodbye, Laasya! I hope to see you at Hogwarts!" Rosalyn said as the girl exited the store.
Rosie then ordered her sundae(made without nuts, thank goodness, no need to have an allergic reaction in the middle of a shop), paid for it, and left the shop, onto the next part of her day. She was happy to have made a new friend, perhaps someone she could see again at Hogwarts. Well, only time would tell!
