Before ingredients, before incantations, there must be a vessel capable of holding magic safely.

Potage's Cauldron Shop is a well-known fixture of Diagon Alley. The shop is located not far from the Apothecary and within easy walking distance of Gringotts Bank. This cauldron shop's placement is deliberate: students and potioners often visit this shop immediately after purchasing ingredients, making it a practical stop for anyone serious about brewing.

Potage's Cauldron Shop has been in operation for generations, earning its reputation through consistency and reliability rather than novelty like Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. Long before standardized Ministry regulations, Potage's shop helped establish best practices in cauldron crafting such as uniform thickness and specific materials to prevent cracking or inconsistent cook times. Much of what Potage has learned has eventually become a part of the Hogwarts curriculum.

The shop's exterior is unmistakable. Large display windows showcase cauldrons of every size, shape, and material, stacked neatly or hovering slightly above their stands. A polished brass sign bearing the Potage name swings gently over the front door. The front door and sills are often freshly painted, done twice a year in a color between charcoal and black.

Inside the shop, the air is warm. The interior is brighter than one might expect, lit to highlight the sheen and craftsmanship of the cauldrons lining the walls and floor. The constant soft clink of metal settling or being adjusted gives the space a reassuring, workshop-like rhythm. Rarely crowded but consistently occupied by at least a few browsing customers. Metal charmers are employed in the back, capable of producing self-stirring and self-heating cauldrons for the wealthy or simply lazy.
