The beginning of her magic
Having been extremely nervous about getting my wand, I had gotten everything needed on the list. I scanned it a few times, hoping that maybe there was something I had forgotten to get, but due to my anxious organising, I had all my things. I see my mother and father head to Ollivanders, "Maybe we should get another pair of socks, what if I get a hole in them" I say trying to head back to Madam Malkins. My mother says calmly to me, "If you manage to get a hole in all 4 pairs of socks I've gotten for you, I will send you more pairs, but darling we really need to get your wand and head home, you still need to pack remember." I shrug knowing she's right, so I sigh and turn back to Ollivanders and walk to the door.
As I open the door my parents stand either side of me, their presence helped calm my nerves. I walk into the dusty and dim-lit shop. "Hello" I call out. I see a man appear from behind one of the shelves. "Ahh Miss Merrick, pleasure to meet you." I look startled at the man "Its nice to meet you too Mr Ollivander." I reply as I feel my father gently push me forward. I approach the counter and I see Mr Ollivander more clearly, he eyes twinkling kindly at me, I watch as he turns and grabs a wand from the shelf and then hands it to me. "Try this one, Chestnut wood, 9 inches, unicorn hair core, Stiff, but precise. Prefers discipline over instinct.” I give it a wave and sparks shoot off it, "Hmm not quite" Mr Ollivander says taking the wand back. He handS me 3 more, each with a similar response, some boxes going flying, a mirror cracking. His reaction stays the same, intrigued and perseverant to finding the right wand.
I watch as he looks once more, going past numerous boxes, he pauses and then steps back a few picking up a box while murmuring to himself as he brings it over. "Try this one Miss Merrick, 26,1cm elm wood and unicorn hair, reasonably springy, very resistant, which requires endurance and determination, very efficient for transfiguration spells." As I take it from him I feel a sensation in my hand, something feels right with this wand. I give it a flick and wind shoots out lifting my jacket and hair before settling back down. "Well looks like the wand choose the witch." Mr Ollivander says smiling. I smile back as I hand over the coins for it. "Thank you Mr Ollivander" I reply heading to the door.
Once exited, my father turns to me and says "See wasn't so bad now was it" I smile back "No, no it wasn't."
