🐍 A New Hiding Spot 🐍 open character building

It was late, way past curfew. Barry had been exploring the castle on his first day, finding secret passages that went from a floor to another floor, perfect hiding spots whenever he wanted alone time. He was exploring the second floor, seeing the Charms Classroom, that he would be familiar with throughout his years at Hogwarts. He came across a fairly old door and seemed like it hadn't been maintained for years. He turned the doorknob, the creak from the rusty door hinges pierced his eardrums and echoed, he quickly turned around to see if any prefect was on patrol, in the all clear, he entered the mysterious room.

It was dark, but the moonlight illuminated the room enough for him to see. It was a bathroom, and it seemed to have been abandoned for years. A sly, excited smirk appeared on the boys lips, "Another hiding spot." He thought to himself, it was perfect, out of sight, seemed like nobody came here from the way that the door opened, how rusty it was. He sat on the ground and thought about how today went, his first day in his second home it seemed. He was excited, yet nervous, nervous about how he was going to do in his lesson, especially with his problem with being distracted easily.

This was the perfect hiding spot, nobody would in their right mind would come in here, especially with how worn down this place looked, gave it this creepy, ancient feel to the room. This didn't bother Barry, with his hometown being primarly old buildings, it was something he was very used to, hence why he was getting more familiar with the castle, because of how ancient it really was. He sat there, pandered on his thought, decompressing and recharging for the day ahead.

Sure, it was past curfew and all, but who gave a piece of crap? Not Astrid. She loved the thrill of sneaking out at night, exploring Hogwarts, the thrill and fear of the threat of being caught by a teacher. Maybe she was weird, maybe she was an oddball, maybe she would get caught, but hey, that was half the fun, right? Plus, wandering around Hogwarts in the dark was fun. She quietly crept around the hallway, before coming upon a bathroom, she tilted her head in curiosity and pushed the door open, looking around in slight awe, it was the perfect place to hide. Sure, it was dirty, grimy, the stall doors were crooked, the mirrors grimy and some porbably shattered, and the sinks looked like they would never work again, and the tiled floor was caked with dirt, but who would think of coming in here? She used the sleeve of her jacket to whipe away some grime off the mirror until she saw herself staring back at her, long wavy red hair, sun kissed skin, freckled nose and cheeks, one blue eye and one gold eye. It was slightly blurry, but better than nothing. She shrugged lightly and wondered to herself. Should she sing? People said she had an amazing singing voice, but there could be someone hiding in here, right? No, no, no, there couldn't... Could there? She became lost in thought, not noticing the boy hiding in the bathroom.

Hearing movement, the young Slytherin shot up from the ground and onto his feet, kicking a piece of rubble, the clinking against the broken tile echoed through the dilapidated bathroom. Was it a prefect? Or worse, was it a professor, either way, he was screwed for definite. Hiding behind a wall, he held his breath for a few seconds, hearing light footsteps draw closer. Why would anyone else come in here? But of course, there could be more students with the same mind frame as him, to explore. He nervously inhaled, knowing he would have to eventually show himself to whomever walked into the bathroom, stepping away from the wall, he sighed out in relief as he saw it was a curious student, a girl, a Gryffindor it seemed.

“At first I thought you were a prefect, you had me panicked there,” the boy said with a chuckle, his strong, raspy Aberdonian accent seeping off his tongue as he spoke. He stepped out the darkness slight, his mulleted dark hair slightly ruffled, and his robes slightly scruffy.

“I thought nobody came in here, was about to make it my little after curfew hiding spot,” he continued, with a playful smirk on his lips, since he was in safety, he took a seat on the ground again.

“Please, join me, would be nice to actually speak to someone that isn’t a Slytherin,” he offered, gesturing to the floor next to him.

Astrid jumped as she heard the boys voice, slowly turning to face him. She placed a hand over her heart to try and settle it. "Well, seems like we both scared each other, aye?" she asked, her Scottish accent thickening from nerves and the scare she had just got. "I come in here every once in a while, to talk to myself, don't ask why I do that, or sing. I never knew anyone else came in here." She mulled that over for a moment before shaking her hair from her face. "Anywho, I would love to join ya for a chat, whats your name? My name's Astrid, Astrid Thorneblade," she said, holding out her hand for a shake as she sat beside the boy. The boy seemed nice, decent company possibly, maybe an interesting person to talk to, get some information of Hogwarts out of him? Possibly make a new friend, that was slightly unlikely, people thought she was odd talking to herself, but you never know, this boy could be lonely too, he didn't seem like it, but at least he seemed decent, maybe his robes were a little disheveled, but hey? Who cares? Not Astrid, she didn't give a piece of crap how she looked either, so long as you were dressed it was fine with her.

Sunny had been on his way back to the Gryffindor dormitories after having some food in the Great Hall, but suddenly, the licorice in his stomach gurgled and made a sensation like it was trying to break out. He made a run for it and remembered that there was a toilet nearby.

He burst into the room. In the corners of his eyes he thought he saw one student? Two students? But he was too busy and disoriented and his business was most urgent. Without a word, he rushed straight for the nearest stall, not even bothering to close the door. He knelt before the porclean throne, and head, down, he sweated and prayed and puked. He progressed quickly, and vomited up a bunch of red, sticky chunks. That would show him to eat nothing but red candy licorice for, like, three days straight. The other students at his table had been, like 'but can you eat nothing but candy for dinner?' and then the next day they were all 'bet you cant eat nothing but candy two days in a row', and the third day, today, well, one could guess.

He flushed the toilet, stood, walked out of the stall, and bent to brush off the dirt from his knees. Then he took a big sniff of snot, coughed, gagged on it, snorted, started, and swallowed it down. Then he wiped his arm - and nose - on his elbow. Even for Sunny's standards, that had been pretty gross.

He saw that there were two students in there. He turned beet red. He made a run for it! He hoped they wouldn't remember who he was.

(Sunny has left, he won't be coming back, but feel free to go about as you wish!)

Ruby Amethyst Diumme was and always has been an adventurer. In her early childhood, she was known for sneaking out of her room when her parents were away and roaming around the countryside. She still does that, actually.

In the Ravenclaw girls’ dormitory, Ruby’s unable to sleep, unfortunately, grabbing every mythology book in her bag and attempting to convince herself to close her eyes. She gets her recurve bow and quiver filled with arrows that have peacock feathers at the ends. Perhaps she could do archery practice… Impulsively, she grabs them, puts on her satchel, and puts them into it. Fuck it, let’s get out of here and explore, she thinks. Ruby carefully jumps off her bunk with an acrobat’s precision, opens the door, and exits. Let’s see what’s in store… Walking through the cold, quiet, and tranquil hallways, her starry night sky eyes dart to the abandoned bathrooms. Let’s see what’s there, now. She tucks a strand of black hair behind an ear and sprints toward the bathroom door, gently opening it. Ruby walks in stealthily, hiding in the corner of the room. Her eyes narrow. Were these people hostile? She opens her satchel and readies her bow and arrow. Have to defend myself, in case they are creeps.Good thing I’m wearing all black — in these shadows, there’s only a slight chance someone would spot me. Βοήθησέ με, Απόλλωνα, αν αυτοί οι άνθρωποι είναι μεταμφιεσμένα τέρατα, she mutters in Greek. Ever since she got into mythology from all kinds of cultures, she decided to learn Greek and Japanese. Her grip tightens on her bow.

Astrid winced in sympathy as she saw another boy run in, then go into a stall, and heard puking sounds, she rose to go and ask if he was alright, but darted back out before she could. She huffed slightly, running through the corridors wasn't a great thing to do after puking, she turned back to the boy she was sitting next to, when she heard footsteps. Her head snapped up when she heard someone come in after the boy had puked and left. She slowly stood up from where she had been sitting beside the other boy. Her gold and blue eyes scanned the bathroom before they landed on someone standing in the corner, dressed in a nightgown and a weird looking veil. She narrowed her eyes, the figure was holding a weapon, and had noticed them, so the chances of escaping were slim, she glared at the figure with her two different colored eyes.
"Show yourself," Astrid snapped.
"Or are you just a shadowy coward in a nightgown and a weird looking veil?"

CRAP, she’s looking at me… Ruby thinks frantically. Show yourself. Or are you just a shadowy coward in a nightgown and a weird looking veil? a girl snapped. She had red hair and heterochromatic eyes. Those eyes look beautiful… Ruby hurriedly lifts up her black veil, revealing her face. She opens her satchel and places the bow and quiver carefully in it, closing it. I’m Ruby Amethyst Diumme — Ravenclaw first-year. I mean no harm, I just went here because I was bored and wanted to practice archery, she says, inclining her head slightly as a sign of respect. She trembles slightly. UGH, WHAT IF I ACCIDENTALLY MORTALLY OFFENDED HER?? AND THEN SHE HATES ME FOREVER. AAAAH. She smiles slightly, hoping that she won’t seem like she’s actually a serial killer. Mind you, she isn’t, but there’s a very high chance she might become one if she’s bored or just snaps. Her expression remains relatively neutral — but just in case the girl actually does want to cause harm, she has got her bow and arrows ready. And an archer is never unprepared to strike someone six hundred times, she thinks.

Astrid narrowed her eyes further, there was no reason to trust this girl, showing up in the middle of the night with a weapon for goodness sakes, and not only that, also in a weird looking nightgown and black veil. Not the best thing to wear when trying to seem non creepy, or some crap like that. She shook her red hair from her face and surveyed the girl up and down, now that she thought of it, why would someone wear a nightgown? Was it comfortable? It didn't look comfortable. Astrid slapped herself in the cheek, shaking out of her thoughts and returned her attention to the girl again.

"Alright, but that reasoning still does not keep yourself from looking like a weird ghost in a black nightgown and veil, how the hay do you even sleep in that?" Astrid asked, tilting her head slightly and narrowing her eyes in a thoughtful look, she wasn't trying to be rude, but the girl had been standing in the shadows with a weapon. And Astrid seemed to always sound rude when she was trying not to, she rolled he different colored eyes and fixed them intensely on the girl again, waiting for an answer.
