Alex has come to Diagon Alley before. He always came with his father, who managed their accounts in the Grigotts Bank, but this time it was different. This time, he was there to buy his school supplies. This time, he had a letter in his hand in which were the things he needed to require for his first year at Hogwarts. His heart was swelling with happiness and excitement. This time, the bustling streets were appearing more warming and inviting then it has ever been in 11 years.

He went through every store. Florish and Blotts for his first year books, Madam Malkine, where he had gone before as well for his robes, but this time he went for his school robes and not ordinary ones. Potage's Cauldrone shop, where he bought his first cauldrone for his potions class. Weasley's Wizard Wheezes, where he could find some pranking things, was always a delited full journey for him. But he was most excited to visit the Ollivanders, where he was going to get his wand.

He couldn't contain his excitement as he went towards the Ollivanders. He was practically bouncing on his feet as he moved to Ollivanders with his parents. An old man came forward from the large shelves filled with different lengths of rectangular boxes. He looked at me, smiled, and said, "Ahh!! Looks like we have a young wizard awaiting his wand." Before he could say anything, Alex blurted out,"Why do you say that the wizard doesn't choose the wand but the wand chooses the wizard?" Ollivander chuckled and said softly,"Seems like we have a curious mind here. Look, Alex, the wands have a mind of their own. They choose the wizard who they think are compatable with. And, how does a wand has it's own mind.... Well, that's a mystery everyone is trying to understand." Alex nodded seriously, trying to understand. Finally, they started to go through multiple wands, but one wand, a 26,1 cm ash wood and snallygaster heartstring, seemed to have connected with Alex.

Alex asked Ollivander," What does this wand tell about me?" Ollivander replied in a warm and soft voice, "Ok, let me tell you part by part. First, the Ash wood tells that you are strong and courageous but not arrogant. Your core, which is Snallygaster heartstring, tells that you have great ambitions. It is good for silent spells and not flashy magic. This wand's master means you are a strong-minded boy and are going to be a great wizard." Alex nodded, making a mental note about it. He now knew that he had to become a great wizard so that even the wands feels pround for choosing him.
