Lily stood outside Flourish and Blotts. This was where she was going to buy her new books for the new school year. She entered the shop, the bell ringing behind her and took out her Supply List. She went through it till she reached the part which concerned the books.

She went near the desk and asked the clerk. "Hi! I want to purchase the following books please. Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger; Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk;

The clerk reached out behind him, taking out the books and said, "Ahh, you are also a First-Year at Hogwarts, aren't you?" Lily nodded with a polite smile. "Here are your books.", the clerk said, handing the books to her. That would be 1 Galleon, 13 Sickles, and 16 Knuts."

Lily took out the coins, counting them carefully and handed them over. "Have a nice day!", the clerk said. "You too!", she replied back. She turned around, and was face to face with a girl about her age. She also had her list out in her hand, and Lily could clearly see the Hogwarts symbols.

"Hey! Are you a first-year at Hogwarts too?", she asked.
