New Year, New Campion (Part 3)  solo
Definitely the most nerve-wracking portion of getting his first year supplies would be the acquisition of his new wand.

Campion had asked to go alone while his family went and got ice cream under the condition that they get a chocolate ice cream for him. So it was alone, for once, that he entered Ollivander's. Similar to the bookshop, it was cluttered with wands on shelves, on tables, and on the floor. There were wands all the way up to the tall ceiling, and Campion found himself gawking when an old man, presumably Ollivander himself, very suddenly approached him, causing Campion to jump.

"Oh, sorry," he said. "Hello. Um, I'm-"

"Here for your first wand, yes? Hmm, let's get right to it, then," the old man said.

It took wand after wand after wand, and several broken displays, before Campion finally found his new wand - or rather, his new wand found him.

"Yes, yes," Ollivander said, offering the wand to him. "Yes, it's this one. 27.6 centimeters long, chestnut wood, troll tail hair core. Best for a wizard with a curious mind and a heart for adventure."

Campion took the wand gingerly, hesitant to break anything more, but nothing further broke. Instead, something about this wand felt irrefutably right. He gave it a little swish, allowing a few sparks to emit from the tip of the wand. He gave Ollivander a big grin, paid for the wand, and set running towards his parents to boast about his new wand and enjoy a chocolate ice cream cone.
