New Year, New Campion (Part 2)  solo
The next step in the collection of Campion's supplies was the robe fitting.

Campion had seen it happen to his older siblings, so the autonomous measuring tapes came to no surprise. Another first year student was in there getting measured first, whom Campion shared pleasantries with while waiting his turn.

Madam Malkin herself finished off measuring the other student and departed to another room to presumably make the robes. Campion wondered to himself why his father never, or at least rarely, made clothes this way. He understood his mother keeping to Muggle ways, given she was herself a Muggle, but his father was a wizard! He glanced over at his father to see him talking to Basil and Violet, who did not yet need new robes thanks to the self-adjusting seams. Maybe he would ask him later.

Now it was Campion's turn. Upon being called over ("Oh, lovely, another of the Taylor clan! Come on over, dear."), he took his place in front of Madam Malkin and allowed the measuring tapes to measure every relevant portion of his body. He stood obediently still despite it tickling at times. When finished, Madam Malkin flittered off and returned just minutes later, equipped with three sets of plain black robes just for Campion. He took them gratefully, and placed them gently in his shopping bag. He was ready for the next step in his journey.
