Dear Mom,
How are you at the farm? I know it must be lonely with just the cows to speak to, but I'll be back before you know it! I will be staying at Ilvermorny over winter break so that I can keep my mind focused and enjoy time with my friends. But don't worry, because the time without me will fly by so quickly! I've been having a great time at school, and I've learned a lot and made tons of friends. I really will miss you on Christmas day, but I hope you won't be too sad. Dad and Michael will soon show up, I'm sure of it. I was told that some relatives were coming over, who? And how has your life been? I really miss you so much, so I've enclosed an empty package for you to fill with treats, especially chocolate chip cookies. Please write back quickly, as I both want to hear from you, and want to eat those treats. The food here is great, but it's nothing compared to the organic freshness of the farm. Speaking of the farm, how is Bessie and her calfs? Are little Crescent and Gibbous doing well? And what about all of the chickens? And Henry, is he still waking everyone up on time? Tell me about all the farm animals and how the crops are doing this year. I miss home, and you.
