✽The crisp autumn air of fall was fresh on Avery's face as she sat in the grass. Today was one of those days where you just enjoyed nature and the beauty of it. There was no reading books, no homework to do, no Quidditch practice to attend, nothing. Just a normal day where Avery could finally relax and enjoy herself. It was also about reminding herself of why she was at Hogwarts. She wasn't just there to learn, become an aspiring auror, and become a memorable Quidditch player. No. There was so much more to life. Friends were more important than work. Friends were the people that stuck by your side for life if you let them.
Avery laid back at that moment so she could look at the sky. The big beautiful sky that reminded her that there really was hope in the world. That every day can be a little more bright if you let it. It was the same sky that Avery had found cloud animals and figures with Kaitlyn in the Forbidden Forest grove the year before. Avery still couldn't believe how long ago that really was. It was her first year where everything had happened. She had reunited with Dylan, watched her grandfather nearly die before her eyes, and she met her now boyfriend. Everything that had happened was for a purpose. Everything shaped her into who she now was.
There were no clouds in the sky that day. Just the big beautiful sky with all the mysteries it held. How could something so beautiful turn so dark in a matter of moments? It was like a sweet child who had never done a single wrong suddenly began biting every person that child came in contact with. That sky was a reminder that life wasn't perfect. It was a constantly never-ending cycle of conflict and resolution. The longest running battle in history.
Avery didn't know why she was so brooding that day. It was as if everything in the world made her stop and think about everything. Especially now that she had time to herself without all the noise and hustle and bustle of her life. It was nice. Peaceful. Avery had never felt so at peace with herself until that moment. Usually she was on her guard and ready for an attack if one came. Now she was calm. Letting her guard down and letting her true colors fly.
Avery glanced up at the sound of footsteps. She was on the Grounds, so that sound did not surprise her. She was just curious. A young first year by the look of her walked across the Grounds. Avery couldn't place a finger on if she'd met the girl or not before. Regardless if she did or not, Avery would be happy to chat with the girl if the girl approached her. She was always happy to chat especially on days when she had nothing else to do. It always made the day more interesting and easier to ease into. ✽

Well, It's Nice to Meet You

It was a bright, sunny day and soft breezes of wind fell upon Anabiyah's face. It was a normal day at hogwarts except that she had nothing to do. Sometimes she would have homework or meetings in the library, but today was a day where she was totally free. No stressing loads of assignments, nothing. She craved for a long, quiet walk in the grounds and there she was, admiring the beautiful views of the great lake, and the expanding forest that stretched in front of her for miles and miles.Interacting with: @Avery Gray

But still, it felt as if one part of her was missing. Maybe it was because of her whole father scenario she was currently facing, the hurt she felt when she heard her mother's words who felt like stones raining on her weak, fragile body. Or maybe the loneliness she carried inside, she did not know.
As she walked, she noticed a figure sitting on the grounds. Upon walking closer, she saw it was a second-year girl, sitting and enjoying as the autumn breeze fell on her. Usually, Anabiyah's anxiety didnt allow her to talk to new people, but on this glorious day, har mental self just shrugged and she walked over to the girl to talk to her.
She did not know her, Anabiyah usually kept to herself. She had knit red hair and turned around Anabiyah's footsteps.
"Hi" Anabiyah said awkwardly, but the girl's friendly smile made her feel confident and happy.

✽"Hi." Avery said softly as a smile spread wider across her face. She stood slowly so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of the day. Avery didn't know why this peaceful manner had come across her that day. In the midst of her crazy life dealing with family, friends, her boyfriend, and Quidditch it was as if Avery never had time to relax and be peaceful. It was those rare times of silence that she cherished most. Maybe this was one of those times.
"I'm Avery by the way." Avery said after remembering that she should probably introduce herself. Her mother would have been horrified that she had forgotten above all else to introduce herself first, but Avery didn't care. Avery had all but lost her mother at this point. It had been over a year since she had last seen the woman and frankly she didn't mind. Upon learning how her mother really felt Avery wasn't missing her as much. If anything, her life had become less complicated.
Avery stretched in order to shake the stiffness out of her body. She didn't even know how long she'd been sitting in that same spot, but it had been long enough for her to grow stiff from lack of movement.
"It's a beautiful day, isn't it? I don't think I've seen this place so calm since I first came here." Avery commented in order to break the silence that fell between the girls. Then Avery turned her head and locked eyes with the girl. A smile still on her face. Her dark brown eyes reminded Avery of the chocolate she had shared with her best friend on their first train ride to Hogwarts. Avery couldn't believe that was over a year ago. It still only felt like yesterday that she was a young and eager first year ready to tackle the adventures and secrets Hogwarts held. ✽
