Overcome with the desire to please, Aria felt a sudden surge of emotions - and without any kind of magical intervention, fragile white flowers from a far-off hedge lifted on an invisible gust of wind and twirled down at him like a soothing snow. The kid stopped crying out of amazement, her parents thought it was an unusual coincidence, and Aria herself only realized what it meant years later when she got her letter from Hogwarts. That one time of unintentional, mild magic had been the very first glimpse of the witch she was meant to ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌be.

Aria​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Rune Atchison is an 11-year-old muggle-born witch from Norwich, England. She was born with oculocutaneous albinism that makes her stand out in a crowd and be remembered. Her hair, which is white as silver, does not want to be neatly braided, her very pale skin gets easily sunburned, and her irises are so lightly pigmented that they are often mistaken for violet when the light hits them just at the right angle. She is of the normal height for her age, being 4'8", slim and with long limbs, and her walking style is both careful and quietly lively, as if she always carries a spark of curiosity ready to burst. Her freckles are so faint they are barely visible on her nose, and she usually puts on wide-brimmed hats, pastel jumpers, soft long sleeves, and green or brown scarves made by her mother—clothes that are a combination of the utmost practicality and a subtle, artistic sense of style. Aria is equipped with tinted glasses for extremely bright days, not because she is a delicate flower, but because she knows her own needs and is confident in her way of taking care of ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌herself.

Aria was brought up in a well-off and loving family with a father who is a science teacher and a mother who is a textile designer. From the very start of life, she figured out how to link fantasy to facts. She was occupied for hours with exploring nature trails, and drawing bugs and plants and at the same time she was stockpiling nature’s “treasures” like stones with weird patterns, feathers, dried flowers, and even the weirdest shaped twigs which she is ready to swear are her friends. Her parents were very supportive of her being creative and curious, they never ran out of answers for her questions and at the same time they taught her to view her albinism as a lovely part of who she is. Because of that, Aria had the opportunity to grow into a quiet kind of self-confidence, a warm and empathetic temperament that makes people come to her in a gentler way instead of a bolder one.
