The sun dragged itself over the horizon at around eight. The days were colder now; the leaves had begun to brown and curl at the edges.
Azzure Solace sat up in her bed, her head tipped back against the wall. She hadn’t slept last night—not with her mind still spinning from everything that had happened at the Fall Ball. How could she?
Her room was a disaster. Letters lay scattered across the floor, and her old paintings of violence were flipped face-down, Azzure couldn’t bear to look at her. But among all the thoughts that had been gnawing at her since that night, one image stood out with sickening clarity–– a head of nauseously bright orange hair.
Azzure wasn’t just furious—she was seething. She wanted something that would hit him as hard as he’d hurt her.
And in the middle of plotting the perfect way to ruin bootleg Garfield's (Dennis Tumberton’s) life, her mind drifted to someone she vaguely remembered seeing with him last year. What was her name again? Merida? Mary? She couldn’t quite remember. Just that the girl had an Asian appearance and had a model like build. Which, didn't exactly narrowing it down…but it was something. Truthfully, Azzure hadn’t been paying attention to anything back then. Her mind had been wrapped up in Violence.
'Merlin. Violence…'
Her jaw tightened, fists curling in her lap. She was going to find the Lorax's (Dennis Tumberton’s) ex—no matter what it took.
⪻────𖤓────⪼
By lunch, Azzure wasn’t just desperate to track down Tony the Tiger's (Dennis’) ex; she was starving. She hadn't eaten since last night, and even then she’d barely eaten two spoonfuls of food back on the ship before panic swallowed her whole and Violence had to lead her out.
If she had a choice, she wouldn’t have even shown her face around Hogwarts at all today. But if there was even a slim chance she could talk to the Lorax's (Dennis’) ex and learn something—anything—that could help her get Violence back… she had to try.
After all, if anyone knew Garfileds' (Dennis’) weaknesses, it would be her.
Azzure stepped into the Great Hall with every intention of holding her head high. But the moment she saw the crowd—hundreds of students, the roar of chatter and laughter bouncing off the stone walls—her confidence shriveled.
'Shit. Calm down, Azzure. It’s just lunch.'
She was almost certain she looked ridiculous just standing there at the entrance. So she forced herself to breathe, squared her shoulders, and focused on finding a tall, Asian-looking Gryffindor girl.
It didn’t take long. Azzure spotted her near the front left side of the Gryffindor table. She wasn’t isolated. Actually quite the opposite–– being in the middle of two very large groups of Gryffindors and Slytherins, but if Azzure was about to expose Dennis for making Violence his rebound, she didn’t care who overheard. Let everyone know he was a player for all she cared, she just wanted to know if he'd treat Violence well.
“Hey!” Azzure called, loud enough for the girl to hear. “You were Dennis Tumberton's girlfriend, correct? I’m Azzure Solace. Can I sit with you? I think there’s something you deserve to know.” Azzure spoke, her voice cautious and tentative, the way she was like whenever she sized up new people.
Now that Azzure standing right next to the girl, Azzure could take her in properly—fair skin, sharp green eyes.
Nothing like Violence.
Although, its shame she had to deal with Charmanders' (Dennis') bullshit. Maybe getting someone as pretty as her was the reason ravenclaws' personal Archie Archibald (Dennis), has such an inflated ego.
Well, either way Azzure didn’t wait for permission to sit. She slid into the space beside the girl.
“I’m so sorry,” she said, turning to the girl. “What’s your name again? The only time we were ever in the same space was the Spring Soirée, and I was… a little preoccupied with my own date.”
As soon as the question left her mouth, Azzure felt her throat tighten.
'What if she’d picked the wrong girl? What if she looked insane? What if she already hated her?'
Too late to back out now. Azzure folded her hands, pretending she wasn’t seconds away from vibrating out of her skin. Just perfect. Now all she needed was for this girl to not immediately throw her fork at her.

What sweet words he was blessed enough to hear during a fine day this. It is not you look great today! or good morning hope you had a good day, or I heard the transfiguration due date got extended. But these specific words:
'I think there’s something you deserve to know.”
Hanako had his back towards where the source of the voice, but that only gave him a chance to hide the obviously big cheeky grin he had. He ignored the other slytherins at the table that might've given him a look. He hardly had time to care. Tea is only warm for a short period. Time is of the essence. Thankfully, he didn't even need to be that obvious about it. He had only rushed in here for a quick meal before continuing on his day. The gryffindors table seemed to have a lot more…interesting brewing there. And Hanako didn't want to be too slow before the tea got cold.
Hanako tried to subtly add just bits of food on his plate, suddenly sitting super straight, his ears perking up slightly. Damnit- if only he had those extendable ears Jack had. When a pair of slytherins next to him talked a little too loudly, he kicked their legs, subtly shushing them with a glare. He needed to hear the conversation going on.

Interacting with: @Azzure Solace, @Ara Villa, @Ava Winchect, @Raizel Voltrouz & @Hanako ToneMeyra was half through her meal, the fork in her hand awaiting mid air with mashed potatoes as her green eyes scanned through the charms textbook placed beside her plate on the table. Her semblance was slightly frowned in concentration as she studied for her next assignment. Charms was actually one of her best classes, even if she in the beginning had struggled with spells, she was becoming increasingly better at it. Most likely thanks to her cousin who was sitting right across from her. Raizel was an amazing witch, even if she needed to be constantly reminded of that. Meyra certainly looked up for her, she could only wish one day her spells would be as effective as the ones that always flew from Rai's wand.
Mey was about to take her next bite of food, when her movement got interrupted by a voice that seemed close enough to be directed at her? Strange... The Gryffindor second year looked finally up from the pages she had been reading to find a white haired girl looking straight at her. The girl didn't feel exactly as a complete stranger, Mey was sure they had crossed paths before, but she was sure they had never interacted. And she was surely not used to be approached out of the blue. So it was an unusual surprise that it was actually happening.
"Hum..." Mey replied in a suspicious mutter, "Hey...?" She greeted the girl back as she slowly lowered her hand, holding the fork, and placed it on the table. Her eyebrows raised and her gaze briefly hovered over the girl's appearance with suspicion when she asked her about being Dennis' ex-girlfriend. That was indeed a poor thing to be remembered for, was her existence at Hogwarts narrowed to that? "Yeah..." She answered to the girl, quickly exchanging a look with Rai before nodding to the girl her permission to sit next to her, even if the other hasn't exactly waited for that to take the place.
"Who are you?" Meyra asked, frowning at her. She had had many weird interaction, but that one was surely winning. "What do you mean there's something I deserve to know?" She asked, her curiosity increasing at every word the girl was saying. "I'm..."
Wait...
She didn't even know her name? She knew she had been dating Dennis, but she didn't even know who she was? Was she about to make a grand revelation that she was one of the girls he had been dating now? Was she waiting and reaching for some kind of reaction?
Meyra felt her inner walls immediately raise and fortify as she unconsciously straightened her back to face the girl now sitting next to her, "I'm Meyra Lancaster." She told her, her voice firmer, replacing the uncertain and surprised tone with which she had spoken before, "You will forgive me, I don't remember seeing you around before.", Apparently my date was far more interesting than yours...for both of us..., She thought bitterly, but chose to maintain the politeness until she was sure what on earth the girl intended to share with her.

Ava couldn’t believe it was already October. As the seasons changed and the trees shifted colors, she couldn’t help but feel disappointment at her own life’s stability. The days had blurred into a monotonous routine of classes and practice. Professors urged her to stay on top of her homework and to pay attention within their classes, but she couldn’t help but be drawn to the bright autumn colors blooming outside the windows.
People who told her to branch out were absolutely wrong. She was perfectly happy in her small bubble of a few friends, seemingly living in her own branch away from the world. Her life sorely lacked the drama she lived for, her days too filled with actual work to have time for the pranks she dreamed of. Her small circle of friends were people she kept at an arm's length, seldom seeing them.
Trying to become an okay student seemed impossible for someone like her. Her roommate--Ara--seemed to be one of Ava’s few motivations for studying. The classmate seemed to be perfect in most senses of the word, with her outstanding marks and prodigious dueling skills. Perhaps that was what made them a pair, Ava’s natural magnetism toward excitement and Ara’s studious nature. They combatted each other, although Ara seemed to be excelling at all categories. Ava couldn’t help but feel the gnaw of jealousy in the pit of her stomach.
The duo had found a pocket of free time within their day, and had somehow ended up together in the library. Jealousy and hunger pulled her from the notes she had been taking from an ancient tome, leading her to stand up and stretch. The bones in her spine let out a loud crack, likely startling her roommate.
“It’s lunchtime!” Ava announced brightly, leaning over Ara to place her hand upon whatever work the Slytherin had collected. “We can come back to this later. C’mon, I’m hungry.”
Leaving her stuff at the table, Ava turned in a flourish of robes, a flash of green catching the light as she made for the door. She was lucky that the library wasn’t too far off from the great hall, but lunch was well underway by the time they both arrived.
Finding a spot at the Slytherin table, they ended up beside an upperclassman who was very obviously listening to something at the Gryffindor table. His posture was unnaturally straight, and his robotic movements as he loaded his plate revealed his true intentions. He kicked the pair of giggling Slytherins on his other side, making it all the more obvious what he was up to. Ava allowed--or perhaps forced--Ara to sit closest to him, certain he was a duellist, one of her partners. Personally, Ava had never spoken to the snake, but she respected his hunger for gossip.
Casually leaning backwards, she stole a look at what was happening behind her. A pair of Gryffindors were speaking about something, and Ava caught an introduction. Meyra seemed to have been confronted by the other lion, but Ava hadn’t determined what it was about. Raising her eyebrows slightly, she placed a few pieces of food onto her own plate carefully and continued to listen--just as conspicuously as the upperclassman.

She was locked in. The library’s quiet had wrapped around her like a blanket, everything around her was blurred out until a vertebra-shattering crack exploded beside her. Ara nearly jolted out of her seat. Her neck almost snapped off from how fast she turned. It was Ava was stretching like she’d just woken from a ten-year hibernation, her hand already sliding over Ara’s notes with zero remorse for the undried ink, whilst declaring it was lunch. Ara stared. Then sighed. “You didn’t…have to break your spine to tell me--” She BARELY had time to gather herself before being whisked out the door, robes fluttering behind her. Reaching the Great Hall, Ava plopped them down beside an upperclassman who kicked Ara right as they sat. She recognized them from dueling. Man, they were not aging, they're just dissolving at this point. They were… sitting oddly straight. Unusually straight. Suspiciously straight. Ara blinked, watching him load his plate like a malfunctioning automaton. Then she followed his gaze. A few young Gryffindorks talking. The Archaeological exhibit leaned ever so slightly, like an old cryptid trying to hear mortal gossip. Ara narrowed her eyes. “…Are you serious?” she whispered at him. “Is your afterlife that boring? You’re acting like a Victorian ghost eavesdropping on the living.” ────────────Gossip Queens (and a fossil)──────────

❂《 ⌜ October 11, 2025 ▎ --:-- ⌟▛▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔▔Ah, yes, food. If she could, she would've skipped it, having no appetite for it today. Why? She just doesn't feel like eating, preferring to be somewhere else other than this crowded place. Of course, that wasn't gonna happen, especially if it was someone you know who asked to go eat together. Raizel’s preferences had changed over the years, from hanging out with friends to being on her own. She wanted to decline Meyra’s offer, especially when she was not in mood as she would only drive people away but the younger Gryffindor would just hit her with those puppy eyes of hers that she couldn't resist. To save herself some time from fighting an unwinnable battle, she let herself get dragged along which was how she ended up here in the great hall, sitting across from her cousin while eating just a bit of food to fill her stomach. Nothing heavy.
If you ignore the other people chattering, you could say that it was rather peaceful in a sense that nothing seems to be going on aside from the usual friendly gossip. No sudden danger and no spiked food or drink. Of course there weren't. This wasn't a Hogwarts ball but she should keep in mind that an innocent cookie decorating event turned into a disaster. Now, that peace wouldn't last as their side of the table had just become a place to gossip when this random uhhh, second year? Joined in to talk to Meyra. As a bystander, Raizel only briefly looked in their direction, locking eyes with her cousin for a few seconds before going back into looking at her plate. Whatever their business was had nothing to do with her after all.
I think there's something you deserve to know.
An intriguing opening… it actually made Raizel pause, taking another glance at Meyra before continuing to eat. Okay, even if she was curious on what this may be, it seems so wrong to listen. Then again, they chose to gossip in the great hall and she can bet she wasn't the only one that had gotten intrigued by it. Whoever heard those words were probably listening as well just like her. You were Dennis Tumberton's girlfriend, correct? That almost made her choke and slam her hand on the table. Luckily, she didn't and she had self-control… for now anyway. ‘Were’...? Did they break up? Since when?! Last time she checked, they were getting along so well, having this awkward yet sweet moment where they just looked at each other without saying anything, acting all lovey dovey. That's what she gets for being so out of tune with other things, especially the things going on with her friends. She looked at Meyra, no, more like she was glaring as if she was asking ‘Did something happen? Should I punch him for you?’ This was the first time she was hearing then so you can't blame her for being so surprised. A violent thought but it was the first to come into mind. Maybe she was jumping to conclusions that it was not a proper break up. Dennis was a great guy so perhaps things just didn't work out.

Azzure flinched at the shift in Meyra’s voice— that tone… she’d heard it before.
Violence had sounded the same last night before she had walked away: not angry, not cold… just guarded.
Azzure clenched her fist underneath the table. Azzure wanted to tell Meyra she meant no disrespect, that she wasn’t here to insult her or drag up old wounds. This wasn’t how this conversation was supposed to go… But at the same time, it felt like nothing has been going her way recently. The world was trying to prove a point, and she could do nothing but to succumb to it.
‘God damn it, Azzure. What’s wrong with you? Calm down. You're only going to weird out the girl more.’
“Meyra… We haven't exactly spoken to each other, but I know about your past relationship with Dennis” Azzure paused, wondering if this was too forward of her to ask.
“I- I think its better if I just get to the point. Do you know that he’s already moved on from you? Last night, at the autumn ball, Dennis was openly kissing my g-”
‘She froze. What was she even going to say? Girlfriend? Date? Crush? Was she ever anything to Violence? Or was she just imagining the whole thing?’ Azzure shut her eyes for half a second, grounding herself as her nails pressed crescent marks into her palm.
“– Violence Bloodthorn, a good friend of mine...” The words tasted wrong. Violence wasn’t here anymore. Violence had found someone else. Azzure shut her eyes for half a heart-beat, her nails pressing crescent marks into her palm in a futile attempt of grounding herself back to the situation at hand.
“I just… I want to know how he was like when you two were together… I don’t want my Violence’s heart to break. Not again.”
The words spilled out before Azzure could register what she was saying…
This wasn’t why she’d come here. She was supposed to be hunting for Dennis’s weaknesses, plotting revenge, reclaiming control. An eye for an eye, poetic justice, all of that.
So why was Violence the only thing she could think about? Meyra didn’t even know who the hell Violence was, much less care about some random girl.
“I mean, forget I said anything. Just- if its not too personal, why did you break up with him?”

Oh. Hanako was too busy with hearing the tea, he didnt realise he kicked his junior. That didn't make him feel any different though, she probably deserved it. And just as her voice left her lips, Hanako was reminded of that. " Hey - I have a gut feeling of good tea. If you think you're so much better than me, then eat somewhere else where your voice doesn't overlap theirs" he stuck out his tongue, ignoring the fact he was meant to be the older one at the table right now.
He tilted his head to the person next to Ara. " Who are you? Actually - don't answer that. Anyone that's a friend of Villa, is someone who's voice I dont want to hear either". His eyes widened as the gryfindoor girl responded again. He leaned closer to ara, shushing her more harsly again before looking like a kid browsing through a candy store.
'gotten over you?' 'openly kissing my-???' 'my violence?!?'. Who cares if Hana never heard of these people!? This is heaven. This is wonderful.
" Hey- who's Dennis and Violence" he asked Villa and her friend under hushed voices, as if it was a crime case for them to solve.

From all the issues that could be chasing after her, like ghosts of a special glueing type, Azzure brought Dennis Tumberton from the tomb Mey had fought to keep him under. She didn't even tell Raizel about the breakup before the summer holidays, that's how much she had prefer to keep the subject quiet and untouched. The look her cousin sent her after Solace's words had been enough for Mey to realise that actually she should have told her sooner, definitely it would have been fun to see that look directed at the Ravenclaw boy. Although, deep down, she knew he didn't deserve it. Not entirely.
It was palpable that whatever had prompted Azzure to speak to her was making her increasingly nervous. Her gaze, the way she clenched her fists in her lap, and seemed to choose her words very carefully...all of this only increased Meyra's perception that something was wrong, so she opted to let the girl talk before trying to judge her, just nodding in encouragement for the other to keep telling her piece.
"Do you know that he’s already moved on from you?"
Well, yes, she had noticed that. Last night during her brief staying at the Lost Pearl, Meyra had seen him with the same girl she had seen him dance with before at the Spring Ball. Was probably that fact that made it all so messy within her after that sight? Because it turns out, that he chose her from all other people...it has always been her?
"Last night, at the autumn ball, Dennis was openly kissing my g-"
"-Violence Bloodthorn, a good friend of mine...”
Hum... that puts a name to a face doesn't it? Violence Bloodthorn...even the name felt ironically fit towards Meyra's sentiments. Violence was absolutely something she was repressing and it was revealing to be a real thorn in her... well, anyway.
Meyra looked at Azzure, her eyes slightly narrowing on her, as she evaluated the words spoken and those that were interrupted. A shadow of a smirk appeared hovering on her lips as Azzure almost said 'girlfriend'. Yes, Mey could be stupid about her decisions concerning to Dennis, but not so entirely she was missing all the rest. The only reason that made her hide that catch was how the other Gryffindor seemed so distressed about the situation...hurt even.
“I just… I want to know how he was like when you two were together… I don’t want my Violence’s heart to break. Not again.”
“I mean, forget I said anything. Just- if it's not too personal, why did you break up with him?”
Where to start? From the point where she confessed she was a monthly monster? Or with the fact that she knew Dennis was better off without her in the way, able to have fun with as many "dance partners" as he wanted? Meyra turned silently towards the table to have a sip from her water, again changing a look with Raizel that was both a plea for help and an apology for making her have to hear all that during lunch break, specially after having to convince her to come.
"Listen..." Mey started, tinkling with her nails thoughtfully on her cup of glass, before looking at Azzure again, "We broke up because we both agreed we would be better as friends...nothing bad happened between us. So I don't think..." Meyra paused to measure her words, bitting on her lip her lower lip, "'your' Violence's heart is going to break." she decided to let the other know she was not entirely oblivious.
Mey cleared her throat before turning her expression more nonchalant, a glint of mischief and maybe a tad bit of something darker there, as she spoke, "I've seen them before you know? Something tells me your Violence knows exactly what she's doing." Meyra briefly pointed with her index finger and eyes at Azzure's heart, before looking the girl in the eyes with a knowing gaze, "You should be more careful with that one over there, probably the one with more tendency to be broken."

Ava grinned at Ara’s snarky remarks to the upperclassman, a little surprised to see it. In sitting down she hadn’t realized she was in for double the drama, both between these two and between the trio they were not-so-subtly eavesdropping on in the other table.
Turning to him, she smiled sweetly. He had asked for his name, then backtracked on the idea because she was associated with Ara. "I could ask you the same thing. Unless…hm, maybe ‘fresh out the grave’ would be more fitting than whatever your name actually is."
She should have anticipated the drama would have been regarding some relationship gone sour. Meyra and Dennis were the couple—whoever Dennis was. She had the itching nag in the back of her mind that she perhaps knew something about him, maybe had heard about him in other gossip.
"Last night, at the autumn ball, Dennis was openly kissing my g-" Ava’s eyes widened, conspicuously glancing backward to confirm what she had just heard. Maybe the gossip bringer was just nervous about sharing the drama, but even more likely she was somehow involved with Dennis’s new date.
Violence. Ava was certain she hadn’t heard that name before, large school, after all. Whoever it was left the Gryffindor with some hurt feelings, as was obvious in her voice.
The concluding lines convinced Ava that this gryffindor was hardly skilled in investigation. Directly asking a girl to speak about her ex was like inviting a lion in for tea. She had no idea what that metaphor even meant but it wasn’t anything good.
The upperclassmen seemed just as lost as she was. Maybe she had heard of Dennis, but she wasn’t one to spread misinformation about him.
"No clue. Why don’t you ask them yourself?" she asked innocently. She almost missed what the confronted Gryffindor—Meyra—was saying.
The biting words were either an indicator of Meyra’s character or of her feelings about Dennis.
"I dare you to go confront them," she whispered over to Ara and the straight-from-the-grave upperclassman.
