Buying Robes
Lily had just eaten an ice-cream and was at the Quality Quidditch Supplies, where her parents found her. After basically dragging her away from there, they came to the next shop. Madam Malkin. Oh yes. She had to buy her robes....
Her mother said, "Take out the list given by Hogwarts. We need to by robes for you." She took it out, unfolded it and read the list.
A wand;
A remembrall;
A cauldron (standard tin model, size 2);
A box of glass or crystal phials;
Copper scales.
These purchases as a whole can be done at the shops on Diagon Alley, in London.
Clothes
Three (black) plain work robes, standard model;
A pointed hat (black);
A pair of protective gloves;
A winter cloak (black with silver fastenings).
All clothes should carry pupil’s name tags.
Books
Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger;
Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk;
Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling;
The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble;
Hogwarts, A History by Garius Tomkink;
A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot;
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander.
Oh wow. Everything in her list was pending, except the wand, that is. She entered the shop and saw CHAOS. Everywhere. And by everywhere, she meant everywhere. There were measuring tapes flying around, though there were hardly any people in the shop for them to measure. Uh-oh.
She had pictured a calm, silent shop, maybe a few robes here, a few hats there. THIS was next-level chaotic.
She shook her head, beckoned her parents to follow her, and stood on a stool. The measuring tape took the measurements by its own, and honestly, it felt a little ticklish. Enduring it, she finally had completed her measuring.
"Hi. I would like to purchase three sets of robes, a pointed hat, a pair of protective gloves, and a winter sweater, please. All with my name tags.", Lily went to the counter and asked. When the clerk asked what her name was, she replied "Lily Clarke".
In a few moments, her order was ready. "That would be 1 Galleon, 11 Sickles and 8 Knuts."
She handed over the money, took her order, mumbled a Thank-You, and started going out.
Outside the store, she produced the list once again and cut off the items she had just bought.
