Anna's shopping spree!  part one   solo
Anna walked into the bookstore Flourish and blotts. Her first impression was of an overcrowded library with too less lighting. After staring round a bit, she first looked around the shelves for any books she might need. But there were too many books for that searching method to work, and she resignedly pulled out her school supplies list which came with her Hogwarts letter, both of which were in the bag she carried. It read:
  • Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger;
  • Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk;
  • Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling;
  • The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble;
  • Hogwarts, A History by Garius Tomkink;
  • A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot;
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander.

Well, there was no way Anna was going to be able to find all these stuff by herself, so she walked towards the store assistant and requested if he could find all these books for her. Having that assurance, she strolled towards the shelves, examining other books. Bewitched Baking, yep, this would be nice. Magical Me, well, not interesting enough. Nature's Nobility: A Wizarding Genealogy, no way, completely unnecessary. Xylomancy, nope, maybe some other time. One Minute Feasts - It's Magic!, yep, maybe she could gift this to her mom. The Philosophy of the Mundane, a great book, but she already had it at home.
Anyway, she thought, Surely the Hogwarts library will be well stocked with books like these. I can read all those there, and first I must perfect the schoolbooks I need. She was on the point of picking up 'One minute Feasts - It's Magic!' and 'Bewitched Baking' to buy for her mom, but decided against it. London was chock full of muggles and it would be asking for trouble if anybody spotted her mother's wand, which was far too ornately carved to pretend it's just a stick that they mean to throw out, and would be way, way worse if someone saw her using it to do her cooking. They'd raise an uproar and it would be a huge break of the statute of secrecy. It had been hard enough to tell her muggle friends that she'd be going to a boarding school in Scotland (of course, they didn't mention the name Hogwarts), but somehow just pretended she had got a scholarship there and it was quite reputable.
By now, the assistant had got all her books and called her back. At the counter, she pulled out her money bag and paid the shop assistant one gold galleon, thirteen silver sickles and sixteen tiny bronze knuts. After verifying that the books were in good condition, she put them into her bag and walked out of the shop. She couldn't wait to read all these!
