Wand and Wizarding world lesson PV Meave,Caspian

Meave hesitated in the doorway of the dueling room, fingers curled nervously around the strap of her bag. The space looked bigger than she remembered from class—wide floors, polished stone, shadows shifting quietly with the flicker of torchlight. She swallowed, reminding herself that she had agreed to this. Karime had been kind enough to notice she was struggling, and Meave didn’t want to disappoint her.

She stepped inside, her gaze drifting to the table where Karime was reviewing her notes.

Um—hi,

Meave said softly, giving a small wave as she walked closer. Her voice bounced a little in the open room.

I hope I’m not late. I, uh… got turned around near the Charms corridor.

She offered a shy smile, then her eyes landed on the books Karime had brought. It made her chest warm a little—someone had gone through all that trouble for her.

Thank you… for doing this. I know you didn’t have to.

Meave paused, adjusting her robe sleeve.

I’m just… really not great with spells yet. I think my wand thinks I’m a bit hopeless

.

Her gaze flicked around the room again, curious despite her nerves.

Is Caspian coming too? I’ve never had a second-year help me with anything before. It feels a bit like I’m getting a private lesson or something.

She shifted her wand between her hands, trying to mimic Karime’s wand movements.

I really want to get better, though. I don’t want to fall behind in anything.

Meave tried to steady her breathing, offering Karime a small but genuine smile.

And… I think you’re going to be a great teacher.

ℭaspian pushed open the door to the duelling chamber with his shoulder — mostly because both hands were busy being lazy, and using his hands felt like too much effort — and let the cool air of the room settled around him.

He hadn’t really expected Karime to take the whole “let’s help a struggling first-year” quite this seriously, but the moment he spotted her standing guard over what looked like a small library’s worth of books, practicing wand movements with a huge load of intensity...yeah. Figures.

Another girl moved to stand beside her, clutching her wand like it might evaporate if she loosened her grip. Definitely the one Karime had mentioned.

Caspian paused just inside the doorway, taking the scene in with a slow blink. He crossed the room at an unhurried pace, slipping his hands into his pockets. Leaning his hip against the edge of the table, he glanced over the pile of books she had gathered

“You know,” he said lightly to Karime, “you’re allowed to breathe.”

Caspian pushed one of the books lightly with a finger, as if testing whether it would bite.
“Pretty sure none of these are going to lunge at you,” he added, glancing at her wand with a raised brow, before turning to the other girl.

He eyed the girl for a moment — nervous, wand clutched like a lifeline — and his expression shifted into something calmer.

“You must be Maeve,” he said, tone easy. “Karime told me you might need a hand.”

As Karime continued doing this she then turned her head when she heard a voice say “I hope I’m not late. I, uh… got turned around near the Charms corridor.” She saw that it was Meave and Karime gave her a soft smile as she said “No worries you're fine, I had a feeling it would be a bit tricky to get her”. Karime giggled softly as she continued, “The first time I had to get to this room I got turned around too”. Karime turned fully around and stashed her wand away as she heard Meave say “Thank you… for doing this. I know you didn’t have to. I’m just… really not great with spells yet. I think my wand thinks I’m a bit hopeless”. This made Karime frown softly as she knows how Meave feels but for Karime it was with potions. “No need to thank me. I just saw you struggling and I couldn't just ignore. It makes sense since you didn't grow up with magic like me and don't worry about feeling that you don't belong. Just remember this. If you were hopeless, the wand you have wouldn't have chosen you”. Karime smiles after she says this. She remembers being little and talking badly about herself, being on herself and she luckily had her older brother Jaxon of course to make sure these negative thoughts went away and never returned or got worse like they did back then.

Karime then fidget with her wand a bit when she said this as she could still see it clear as day these memories and she tries to never mention or else it then brings her mood down. But she snaps out of it when she hears Meave ask where Caspian was and stated how she felt that she was getting a private lesson with the fact a second year was going to help her and saying how she was hoping to get better so she wouldn't be behind everyone. Karime thinks about it as she says that “He should be here soon hopefully. I was actually surprised she accepted my letter about helping as we only ever really interacted the one time when he had helped me in the library a month ago with potions”. Karime was happy though because she would be able to thank him again for helping her as she felt that she should properly and in person thank him for being there academically and listen to her rants and stress. Karime's heart then warms as she hears Meave say “I think you’re going to be a great teacher”.

Karime spaced out a bit as she focused on this and got snapped out once again. Karime has a tendency to do this a lot…. She heard Caspian's voice as he said that she was allowed to breathe and Karime chuckled as he poked at a book and talked about how none of them were going to bite or lung at her. Karime rubbed the back of her neck, “Hehe you know me Caspian have to be fully prepared and may go a bit overboard”. Karime mumbled the last part about going overboard and gave a nervous smirk.
