Emily walked down into the marble halls of Gringotts with her parents. Her mum was a pureblood witch who had quite a lot of money in her vault here and had been here many times before. It was a new experience though, for her and her dad, who was a muggle.
"Wow!" Mary exclaimed in amazement, taking in the beauty of gringotts and its main hall. It was a beautiful building made of marble, with so many antique style decorations and ornaments. There were goblins sitting at their desks (why did their ears look somewhat like Mary's?) doing so many things. One was examining a pile of galleons placing some in a pile muttering 'genuine' and putting some others on the ground, muttering 'leprechaun'. A goblin called them all and they walked into a passageway, a dark stone one where the goblin whistled to summon a cart. All of them filed into the cart, a bit nervous, except for Mary's mom, of course. She had made this trip so many times before, and patted Mary to calm her down.
The track hurtled downwards, turning this way and that. Way better than any rollercoaster, Mary thought, except that this wasn't in any amusement park in the sun (she hated dark spaces). Her dad looked like he was going to be sick, but Mary liked this. The thrill was so much with this cart and suddenly, it stopped. 'Vault eight hundred and twenty seven' said the goblin as he took the lantern from the cart and walked towards the vault, motioning for all three of the people in the cart to follow them. The door melted away at the goblin's touch. It amazed Mary, but her mum didn't look surprised or impressed. Plainly this happened every time she came to Gringotts so it was nothing of a novelty. But it was really what was inside the vault that caught her eye and made her jaw drop open for a few moments until she realized it and quickly closed it again. There were piles of gold galleons, silver sickles, and bronze knuts in there, as well as some really beautiful jewellery and goblin made items. She had know her mum had money, but not to this extent! Mary walked in and as per her mom's instruction, put some of the galleons into her bag and a few sickles and knuts for change if it were ever needed.
On the cart ride upwards, Emily remembered how happy she had been when she got the Hogwarts letter. Perhaps, Hogwarts might just be far more than her expectations, if a bank could beat it with such a huge margin. As she now walked out of the marble doors of Gringotts, she smiled to herself. Now that she had wizarding money to spend, maybe it was time to have a little shopping spree of window shopping and time to get her school supplies and maybe a treat or two. Walking away with her parents, she skipped and hopped away excited about what was to come...
