this is going to be a space for Leo’s ic journal, it is specifically his leather bound journal that was gifted to him the day he left for Hogwarts by his family so that he could write about his first year in it. you can read through this if you so desire but remember that anything in here your character won’t know ic unless they were there during the events written about/have talked to him about it. otherwise enjoy reading and let me know if you do!

—————— September 2nd, 2025 // lunchtime

The first day of classes for my first year at Hogwarts is halfway over. Is that how people usually start journals like this? I guess so.. Anyways yesterday after leaving the station and saying goodbye to my family I was joined in my cabin on the train by a girl named Sophie. She was very nice, good company to talk to throughout the long train ride to the castle.

The boat ride across the Great Lake to the castle was amazing. The sight of the moonlight behind Hogwarts as we rode across the water was beautiful. I even was able to get a stuffed bear from the enchanted bear that sat aboard the front of our boat and it is staying on my bed in the dorm room now too.

When we walked inside the Great Hall for the first time to attend the sorting ceremony I was truly amazed by the grandness of the room. The paintings that lined the walls, all the students seated at their houses’ table and even all the Hogwarts ghosts that joined to watch the new students be sorted. I guess I should say I’m not surprised by the sorting hat’s choice of house for me since my parents and older siblings are all in Ravenclaw as well. I’m pretty pleased with it though. The common room and dorm was really cool. I definitely will be spending some time in the common room by the fireplace to read soon.

What surprised me the most was this morning during the first class of the day I ran into Cecilia. She made quite the entrance being nearly late and coming in all disheveled. But it was nice to see her again and we even made plans to explore the castle a little this afternoon during free time, and hopefully not get into trouble.

I’m looking forward to what this year will bring though. Everyone was right though, Hogwarts is definitely interesting. I do wonder though if I will see the girl from camp soon.. I hope we will get to hang out together soon. Hopefully I will be able to make lots of new friends soon.

I suppose that’s all for now. I don’t really know how to end this kind of thing so..
