Charlotte sighed, playing with her quill. She was supposed to be doing schoolwork, but she was bored out of her mind. She was getting distracted by her quill, which was kinda stupid, but whatever. There were so many other things you could do with a quill. Like drawing pictures, flinging ink in someones eye, writing stories, poking someone with a quill, writing letters. . . Then, it hit her. She could write someone a letter! She rarely sent people letters, so this would be fun. But who? After a couple minutes of wondering who to write to, she decided to write to Lenora. They sorta met earlier in the year, but Charlotte hadn't seen her since. Since Lenora was a year younger, she didn't see her much around school. It'd be good to keep in touch. Pushing aside her school work, she took a piece of paper out and started writing.

Dear Lenora,

How are you doing? I'm doing good, just tired of all my schoolwork. I miss summer. I guess school is really starting to settle in. Do you have a lot of homework? I mean, I don't have a lot but I'm just really bad at focusing. I always procrastinate on my assignments. I wish I wasn't so lazy. . . Actually, I'm procrastinating right now, at this very moment. I'm supposed to be doing homework, but I can't focus. I'm smart, but I'm so lazy. If you have any study tips, please let me know!

Anyways, how's life? How's school? Did anything interesting happen? It's been pretty normal for me. Nothing much is happening here. Oh wait, I did get a cat! But besides that. . . nothing happened. Can't believe we've already been in school for so long. It felt like just yesterday it was summer and I was relaxing at home. Do you have any goals for this school year? I think mine will be to stop procrastinating.

I'm writing to you since I hadn't heard from you since the beginning of the year. (Sorry, I should have told you that earlier.) I forgot and I got a bit off topic. Anyway, maybe we should organize something? So we can see each other? Let me know what you think! Alright, I'm gonna stop procrastinating and do my homework now.
