Geneviève could always be found in some sort of formal excitement. Being raised in the upper-class Pureblood culture, she was no stranger to dressing up and dancing the night away as her father spoke with the scheming acquaintances, he unfortunately was forced to commune with. Usually when a gala or such a night occurred, Geneviève would be on the arm of some Pureblood brat who had no intention of making sure that she enjoyed her night. More often than not, Geneviève would end up sitting out for the rest of the evening because her father was too busy, and her brothers had their own dates and evenings to attend to.
But with Alphonse? It was far different.
Geneviève smiled to herself as she gently padded across the grounds, her skirts gathered in her hands to avoid as much of the dirt and dampness that the Scottish Highlands tended to gather when the sun would set in early October. Alphonse had asked her to meet him a little astray from where the festivities would be taking place. They both had quite the fright during the Spring Ball, she honestly couldn't argue with him over wanting to fester a little distance between the two of them and the other students and staff.
Geneviève's dress sparkled under the twilight sky that spread across the horizon. It was a simple dress this time around- nothing as grand as her normal attire, but she felt that it fit in with the theme. Or at least her interpretation. She wanted to look as though she was part of society in the time of pirates. Most, she had assumed, would be approaching the ball from an idea of mermaids, and other watery do-dads. She wanted to go the more fashionably historic route and was dressed in a style similar to the mid 17oo's.
The gown she wore was a range of blue. It shimmered ever so slightly, but only across the skirt and nowhere near the bodice. She had done research to ensure that it would match the style and fabric available to the nobility of the time. The blues that she had chosen had been dyed in a variety of shades to give the garment dimension and extracted from a plant known as woodland woad. Everything was smartly chosen and historically accurate.
She hoped that Alphonse would like it. She thought it looked gorgeous.
Alphonse had told her to come to the edge of the lake where they were set to have a picnic. Just the two of them. She was excited but must he have chosen such a distance from the castle? Her legs were tired, and she just wanted to sit down finally and be in the company of her boyfriend.
Finally, soft baubles of light came into better view, and she was greeted by the carob color complexion of Alphonse's neck as she snuck up on his back rather unsuccessfully. The boy embraced her as she joined him under the tree and saw the small amuse-bouche of snacks that he had procured for them before they made their decision of where to go from there.
"How charming... I do love a picnic." Geneviève spoke softly as she took her seat next to Alphonse on the gentle blanket. The fruits and soft cheese, as well as the chocolate and fig jam looked heavenly, and she felt her stomach yearn for the snack before her.
"Thank you for bringing me here, I don't know if a literal floor on a lake sounds safe given the history of my time here. But no matter. I missed you..." Geneviève spoke with earnest as though she hadn't just seen him quite literally a day or so ago when she had arrived for the event. "You always think of the right things for us to feel closer together."

Under the Moonlit Twilight
♕- Fall Ball, October 4th, 2025 | Great Lake, Hogwarts -♕
The Toussaint boy didn't know what it all had meant — the raw, unbridled determination and mania tumulting within Piérre's cerebrum to mass produce potions since mid-September, or the cryptic words which the Italian Seventh year bestowed upon him.
A blonde eyepatch-wearing devil donning a chrysoprase pendant; this descriptive depiction — none that belonged to anyone the Gryffindor had yet acquainted with at Hogwarts — would belong to the savior at Alphonse's beck and call should the Haitian need rescue. It'd be a lie to deny that the boy's curiosity hadn't been piqued regarding who this mysterious individual was. Debating whether to probe for more or not had taken an immense amount of willpower while preparing for the Enchanted Depths Ball, but his hardwired tactfulness and loyalty won over.
When it came to the eerie and mechanical innerworkings of the Marchonné boy, Alphonse recognized early on since their fateful meeting in early September that the less the Haitian knew, the better. From a strategically aloof and circumspect standpoint, it naturally boded best for both of the lions within the Niffler Nook — and perhaps it was this reason that established the foundation of their friendship. Although much of Piérre's mind's internal clockwork remained much a mystery to Alphonse, and the Italian wizard seemingly appeared to prefer it that way — in a similar breath, the Caribbean-bred boy was often rather content to turn a blind eye to the spinster and his web. Unless, of course, those tangled machinations concerned him, his friends, or his girlfriend, though Piérre only appeared to want Alphonse and his circle of trust alive and well — it was a kindness that the newly-dubbed Gryffindor wouldn't take for granted.
Naturally, upon hearing the Marchonné boy's warnings the day of the ball amid last minute preparations, it only further validated Alphonse's suggested notion established days before the Enchanted Depths Ball to maintain a safe distance from the events at play.
While the Gryffindor himself had no issue attending the festivities at full, his focus resided purely upon his girlfriend's wants and needs more than his own. Despite Geneviève's attempts to downplay her fear since their heartfelt conversation at Summer Camp and through letters, the Beaubaxton girl remained hesitant to return to Scotland after the ball last Spring, and understandably so.
To carry out his promise, the boy spent several days perusing the Scottish highland Grounds and Great Lake shoreline to scout out a prime location that offered a safe distance from the event should things result in hellfire again, yet close enough to observe should his cousin Isadora need rescuing. Once Alphonse located a perfect spot near the shore and underneath a shaded tree, it became his primary mission to make the night Geneviève could reminisce fondly upon for months to come and also deliver on the many promises he'd failed to maintain before.
Upon Piérre dispersing from the Niffler Nook, Alphonse glanced once more in the mirror to ensure all facets of his sailor-inspired ensemble were on point before heading to the assigned location with supplies in tow. His initial focus was first to arrange the picnic in a neat presentation completed with hors d'oeuvres before adorning the private retreat with multiple blue-hued streamers, glow in the dark stones, and flickering candlelit baubles — designed to replicate the Enchanted Ball although on a much smaller and intimate scale. Even at the safe distance of the Gryffindor and his date's location, the music radiating from the actual ball could still be heard.
Now, all that was left to do was wait—
A hazy mist cloaked across the lake akin to a blanket beneath the twilight sky — the night's aesthetic was complete with a bright moon and twinkling stars, only furthering the eeriness and beauty of the ocean depths, and Alphonse couldn't resist standing idly while waiting and simply basking in it all.
Meanwhile, Geneviève's imminent arrival wouldn't take long; somehow, Alphonse would be far too distracted in the location's setup, the night's ambiance, and the actual ball transpiring in the distance for the Gryffindor to initially detect her presence until hearing a leaf crunch underfoot. Swiftly turning his head to the side at the sudden sound, the Beaubaxton girl's delicate hands attempted to wrap around his torso in a playful attempt to scare, but Alphonse instead pulled her into an embrace.
And by the gods, Geneviève looked stunning in her blue hued gown befitting the Enchanted Depths Ball's theme. An awestruck grin wore the Toussaint boy's countenance, and an incoherent muttering of "Wow" slipped through his thinly parted lips while guiding the girl to do a small spin under his arm just so his oak-brown gaze could admire the gown's exquisiteness from all angles.
"You look amazing, Geneviève," Alphonse spoke, finally releasing a breath the Toussaint boy couldn't help but hold within. The corners of his lips twitched into a natural smile, though it was obvious that the Gryffindor was momentarily speechless and flustered.
Gently taking the Beaubaxton girl's hand in his own, the Toussaint boy guided Geneviève to the soft blanket before the spread of hors d'oeuvres, chopped fruits, sliced cheese, cured meats, and various other goods his mother grew, prepared, and purchased for the occasion. "I'm glad. My mom is always looking for a reason to try new recipes," Alphonse lied partially, speaking more to himself than her — in all actuality, the meal hadn't been an easy feat to achieve. The Gryffindor had to beg, plead, and take on extra greenhouse and babysitting responsibilities for several days just to coerce Sarai into preparing the tasty and aesthetically pleasing picnic before them. Exhaling with nervousness that the spread wouldn't live up to her expectations owing to Geneviève's upperclass lifestyle, Alphonse's mind reluctantly lingered on the thought longer than necessary, but outwardly schooled his countenance into a mask of poise to conceal the maelstrom that tumulted within.
At the sound of her softspoken words, the Caribbean-bred wizard offered a curt nod and faint smile. "Of course," he replied immediately, offering her hand a gentle squeeze out of consideration for Geneviève's needs. Alphonse internally prayed it was all enough to make up for his former inadequacy both as a friend and ball date last Spring; it wasn't the extravagance she'd grown accustomed to, but there was considerable effort on the Toussaint boy's part. "I missed you too," he admitted quietly, mostly speaking to the long-distance relationship as a whole.
Heeding her words further, his oak-brown eyes naturally glanced towards the Enchanted Ball festivities occurring several yards away and gazed out to the glass platform above the grindylow infested waters where several had begun to dance. It was a fascinating concept, but it appeared like a disaster waiting to happen— just as most things at Hogwarts ultimately tended to be.
"I think I prefer this anyway — just us, and no bad surprises waiting to happen," he swiftly added with a nervous smile cast in the girl's direction. At the mention of surprises spoken from his lips, Alphonse's cerebrum spiked in remembrance, frantically patting his suit pockets as if unsure if he remembered to bring his gift for Geneviève. Feeling a slim box tucked within his breast pocket, the Toussaint boy released a weighted exhale of relief before withdrawing the silver, glittery box and presented it to her; "For you."
Inside was a handcrafted macrame bracelet with pearls and bloodstone woven into it; originally meant to be his birthstone with hers after some research, Alphonse opted for pearls instead without access to aquamarine.——interactions. @Geneviève Caussade

Geneviève giggled as Alphonse caught her as she tried to spook him- she'd known somewhere subconsciously it wouldn't work- and twirled her into a hug. His cologne was so familiar and it brought her up to cloud nine as she was immediately thrown into the memories of all the times they had been together before. Her Alphonse. Here in her arms, and she in his. It was the perfect beginning to their evening even if it was mostly separate from the others. She giggled even more-so as she noticed that they where wearing very similar almost matching garments for the occasion when he spun her around to observe the gown she had doned for the evening.
Alphonse's lavender, vanilla and amber embrace was ever so comforting to her. Not that she would tell him, but she had been finding reasons to incoporate lavender and vanilla into her life whenever she found herself missing him terribly. Which was often. It was difficult being young and in the deep end of feelings for someone when you lived countries away with little to no contact aside from letters. Geneviève stepped back to take a full look at him.
"Mon beau garçon! You and I are perfectly in sync no? We match tonight! Ah! Très magnifique!" Geneviève cooed softly as she stood on the tips of her toes to nuzzle her nose against his before placing a sweet kiss on his lips. His lips where still warm and inviting, just as she remembered from the last time their lips had joined together over the summer. Nothing she would ever get over, or get enough of.
Alphonse presented her with a small box which when opened caused Geneviève to gasp with amazement as Alphonse presented her with the bracelet inside. It was gorgeous, the way the colors of the gemstone and the mineral swirled together in the beading. It was beautiful and it was an amalgimation of the two fo them. She accepted the item with a happy squeak of acceptance as her hands fluttered excitedly.
"Oh help me put it on!" Geneviève exclaimed as she held her wrist out to Alphonse, who very smoothly and carefully affixed the bracelet to the delicate porcelain color of her wrist. It definitely stood out, and it looked as though it was meant to be on her wrist. She looked up from her bracelet at Alphonse with a sweet smile on her face as she reached up to hug him.
"You're so sweet. I've never been given a gift such as this. Pearls are my favorite did you know that? I love the colors and shapes they come in. What kind of stone is this one?" She asked as she looked at her wrist again, still holding to him as she admired the gift that he had given her.
Geneviève suddenly felt empty and a terrible guest. She had come with nothing but herself, no gifts or food to contribute to the night. Alphonse had gone through the trouble to create such a beautiful evening for them, and to find a gift such as the bracelet, she couldn't just let him think she was ungrateful for what he had done for her. Alphonse was always doing kind and thoughtful things for her even when they had worried that their relationship was not on the best of terms.
Geneviève hadn't ever done anything kind or thoughtful for him it seemed. When had she given him a gift? When was the last time she had done something that made sense for a girlfriend? It made her feel so disappointed with herself. This was not what she had envisioned for herself when she had seen herself becoming a woman in a relationship.
Geneviève let go of Alphonse and took his hands, squeezing them gently and sincerely.
"Alphonse, does it bother you that I don't... That I haven't- helped you plan dates like this?" Geneviève asked, feeling slightly insecure that she was here with a saint of a boyfriend, feeling like a selfish, entitled brat. Alphonse had never voiced any sort of opinion otherwise, except for when they had argued about the Fall Ball (but he had been in the right as his family did come before Geneviève, which she had fully accepted), though Geneviève still felt as though perhaps he thought she wasn't contributing to their relationship.
She really wanted to, but what could she offer? Geneviève's shoulders slumped slightly as she looked at the picnic area that Alphonse had set up for them. It was so dainty, so perfect and protected from the dangers that could arise and harm the two of them. She felt safe here and he'd done it just for her.
"I'm sorry I am not a good guest. I have nothing to bestow to you."Geneviève explained. She gently thumbed the bracelet, feeling the smoothness of the pearls and beaded stone in the woven texture of her bracelet. It fit perfectly. As though Alphonse had known her exact measurements from the many times their hands had been held together. Her hands always felt so secure in his. They looked warm against his skin while her own color made his hands look cold. A perfect temperature match.
The two of them looked picturesque. A portrait come to life. A story that needed to be finished in a way that satisfied the readers and herself. She stewed in her thoughts as she tried to think about what she could possibly give him. She hoped, at least for tonight, that Alphonse would simply say that the perfect gift she could give him would be her company. That would give her time to think of something perfect and heartfelt to gift him as a thank you for everything that he had done for her, and everything that he had gone through just to be with her.
The problem was now, Geneviève sucked at being crafty. This was not something she was good at. Creativity was something she admired but unfortunately, not something she thought she was very good at.
Putting the though aside, she tried to put on a happy face and turn the conversation back to something more happy. This was an exciting and romantic occasion between her and Alphonse. She wanted to spend time with him and not worry about what she would gift him the next time she saw him. That would be something she would worry about when they adjourned for the evening.
"Will you tell me about the school year so far? How have your classes been? Are you adjusting to Scotland well? How's Siobhan? The poor dear. I've been worried about her and her eyes. Geneviève asked as she adjusted her seated stance to look at Alphonse without the bodice of her dress digging into her ribs. One of her hands moved away from around his arms and picked up one of the delicate fruits with one of the provided forks. She brought the straweberry to her lips and bit into the crisp fruit with a soft 'mmm' that followed.
"Douceur, pure douceur" Geneviève mused with a delicate hum. The red fruit tasted just heavenly and as though it had been picked just that morning.
