The Stars Were Aligned Just for Us

Tatiana was reading the stars the night before, they were beautiful that night. Though she knew that they were beautiful every night, they seemed to shine exceptionally brighter than usual, she took it as a sign that something was happening.
She had always loved stars growing up, coincidentally, she had also loved cats. Don't ask how she had made that connection but to her, it just felt ...real. She'd been begging her godparents to buy a new cat for her, a sort of companion to guide her at school, she doubted that she would even make friends at her first year.
A week before she was departing to Hogwarts, her godparents finally agreed—under one condition. She was to only keep one cat and would not be offered switches, though she was still welcome to give the cat back but no more after that. Tatiana immediately agreed after that, of course.
Once they'd gotten all her supplies, Tatiana's godmother handed her a small leather pouch that consisted of a few galleons and sickles, strictly instructing her to not spend anything more than 30 galleons, before going back to the Leaky Cauldron to pack her stuff. Tatiana bounced happily to the Magical Menagerie, eyeing a few possible ones she could adopt behind the windows.
When Tatiana entered the shop, she was greeted with an old woman who had short, wispy white hair wearing a floral dress who invited her to have some cookies from a small tray she was carrying. After making Tatiana take the whole tray, she then proceeded to ask the young girl, “And perhaps what would you like, young miss?”, her voice was sugary, quite like the one she used whilst making the cookies that Tatiana was now feeding on.
“Would you like a toad? An owl? Or perhaps a cat?”, she added, showing Tatiana around the shop. “Ah, yes!”, she said quite suddenly that Tatiana stopped munching on the cookies for a while, “I forgot to introduce myself, alas, my name is Anita Witticker, and my husband, Ernest, is at the back tidying some things up.”
Tatiana smiled at her, happy to at least now know what the sweet woman's name was. After finishing the cookies, Tatiana spotted a small, black feline purring against her leg. Picking it up, she noticed that this one seemed to be newborn, looking as though it was only a few months old. Once their eyes met, its glowed brighter, reflecting the stars that shone brightly against Tatiana the year before.
