Be My Date...or Whatever
Death and violence were her moods that early autumn afternoon. Sitting in her room, kneeling on a cushion, Maria hunched over her table fingers scratching irritably across the surface. She stopped her scraping only to pause for a cup of tea while she wracked her brain. Dark finger nails reflected the storm in her eyes. How was she supposed to write this letter? More importantly, why would she write a letter and not kick down the door and make the demand? Why? Because she’d probably scare the half-giant. He always took her aggression as if she were a kitten play fighting and she had sought comfort in the fact that no matter what she did, Kiyoshi-kun could handle it.
However…however…she had a sinking feeling that if she straight up asked the big oaf to the fall ball at Hogwarts he’d give her some lame excuse even if he might mean to say yes. He was a good punching bag but he wasn’t very upfront about his feelings. She would not go without him. Her first foray out of Japan since she arrived was to France for the valentines day event, and that had ended in both her misery and loneliness. Her second time was to go home to Macau…and…well, that didn’t go according to plan either. No. If she would venture out again, she would be safe with Kiyoshi-kun. She couldn’t just say that though.
“I don’t need anyone. I am my own safety,” she spat at the thoughts. No, she wouldn’t be so vulnerable. She’d rather fight an army of hags than have to be so up front about her weakness. No. She would keep it straight to the point. All she had to do was ask.

She looked at the attempt, cursed, and then tore it in half. She went through a handful of other drafts each one vaguely threatening. For thinking he was bad with feelings, she was doing a horrible job of it herself. After a few too many cups of tea, and jittery with the caffeine she finally, and begrudgingly wrote:Kiyoshi,
Come to fall ball with me at Hogwarts. If not, I will shrink you to the size of a niffler.
She threw up a little in her mouth but decided that she would rather threaten him to his face. Only a cowered hid behind a piece of parchment, even though that was exactly what she was doing at that very moment. Before she could change her mind, she quickly sent the missive off to it’s intended destination.Kiyoshi-kun,
Can we go to the fall ball together? I don’t want to go to Hogwarts without you. Please say yes.
