Magic in motion

The‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ cold afternoon wind blew over the Hogwarts Quidditch field. Sienna tried to warm herself by wrapping her coat tightly around her shoulders. The stands were almost empty, but there were a few people who had come to watch the game, and she was only watching the Gryffindor team practice the game. The players were flying fast and Gryffindor was training for their next match. The practice was so intense that if the feeling in the air had been able to, it would have caught fire.

She could see through the window of the stand that a player was going after the Quaffle very fast, and his laugh could be heard just above the noise of the brooms. The Beaters were flying side by side, and the silver of their bats could be seen as they deflected the Bludgers from their friends. The Keeper would throw himself down to stop the ball occasionally, and a dust cloud of golden color would rise from under his feet on the pitch. Sienna was smiling too, and she thought that there was something very lovely and in the same time quite thrilling in the pattern of the drops, the flights, the razor-sharp turns, and the players acting like one living organism.

As the Seeker was taking a chance of a shot, she got up from her seat and leaned over, putting her hands on her knees. The Snitch was seen reflecting for a very short time near the far goalpost, and that moment, it looked like the whole team was breathing only. Sienna's heart was beating along with the chase, and she could almost see the wind rushing by her face, the very moment she had always yearned for the flight, but in a way, she hadn’t quite mastered.

It was only a quiet hand clap with which she greeted the whistle that was blown and the players coming down from their brooms, laughing, and gasping for ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌breath.
