✽Why did life have to be so hard? Dylan had been constantly running that one thought through his head for the past day. Ever since the day before he couldn't get the feeling that he had messed up. Badly. Worse than ever before, and there was no going back. No reverse or refresh button to erase his mistakes. No. This was real life, and he had to face the consequences of his actions.
He sat there in the middle of the grounds of Hogwarts picking at the grass beneath him. Not paying any attention as the world continued to move around him. He had learned that this past year. That no matter what happened to him or what he did, the world always went on. Even if he didn't want it to go on.
That's when he finally decided to look up as a young first year Hufflepuff was walking along the grounds. He was alone which sparked Dylan's curiosity. The boy could have been alone for a variety of reasons or maybe didn't want to be around other people at the moment, but Dylan pushed those thoughts away. He had to distract himself from everything and maybe this first year would help. If not, he would find something else to do.
"Hey. You okay?" Dylan asked the first year he had finally approached. Unsure of whether or not his response had been the best way to approach the boy. ✽

Archie was walking alone, enjoying the fresh breeze on his face as it ruffled his constantly a birds nest what he called ‘hair’ and sunlight shining on his lovely, small green eyes. However, he wasn't the biggest introvert in the world as he craved one special little thing as most people do Social interaction! So when a older lad came walking up to him, Archie was happy, grinning from ear to ear feeling his insecurities float away in face of actual human conversation. Woo! "Yeah, I'm a'right. Name's Archie. First year Huffie..ain't from round this poshies and propers. Used to the words my parents use. Yourself?” He asked, accent coming through as the first year stretched out one hand for a greeting. Though Archie didn't know when the other boy was sat in the grass like a useless mole in the cold..but it ain't Archie's business so he can't gonna care. He ain't a nosy lad..until a friend gets hurts but he didn't know the fella yet..
Now things are looking good, Archie isn't trapped with his own insecurities...as least for now. But hey! Always look on the bright side of life as they say, ain't it?..and hopefully Archie would get the name of his house right eventually.

✽Dylan was surprised at how enthusiastic the boy was. He reminded Dylan so much of his cousin, Avery. Avery was always the social butterfly that loved talking to anyone. Especially if they also wanted to talk. Dylan had always admired that about his cousin as he was the opposite. Where Avery was wild and Gryffindor-like, he was like his father. Calm, level-headed, though he could get close to Avery's level around friends. Especially when it came to he and Summer talking about marshmallows.
"Oh. I'm Dylan. I'm a Thunderbird from Ilvermony in America, but you can probably tell from my accent that I'm not from America. I'm actually Welsh." Dylan smiled a little.
Dylan liked America, but wow Wales was far better. In Wales he actually belonged. In America he was the outcast with the foreign accent that didn't fit in. He was the kid that people could take a stab at poking because he was different. That was why he had become so secluded and quiet.
"Well, what brings you out here on this fine day?" Dylan laughed lightly. Fine wasn't exactly the best word for the day. If anything it was more of a mid day. A bit chilly for his liking, but at least the sun was out. That was what mattered. At least it mattered to him anyway. ✽
