Lapiz’s Hogwarts Express Experience
The train station was busy as Lapiz, her mother, Lysandra, and her little brother Erin bustled through the crowd. There was a quiet energy running through Lapiz, she was excited to begin her first year at Hogwarts. Her mother had been preparing her for this day for years, and yet she still ran through the basics as they reached the platform.
“Run straight at it, Lapiz, don’t be afraid of it.” Her mother said.
“I know mum, the train will be just on the other side.” She smiled.
“You made sure all your robes were packed? Your wand? Oh dear, I think I may be more nervous than you!” Lysandra laughed softly.
“Yes, mum. I triple checked it all before we left.” Lapiz patted her mother’s arm.
“Lapiz,” Erin whined, “why can’t we go with you? I want to see Hogwarts, too!”
“Erin!” Her mother chided.
“Oh, little brother, one day you will. Until then, I’ve left you a little gift just under your bed at home.” Lapiz hugged her brother tightly. She’d left him a picture book containing a brief history of Hogwarts and her favorite photo of them.
“Oh, really!? Thank you so much, sis!”
Lapiz pulled her misty eyed mother into the hug.
“I’m going to miss you so much.” She sniffled.
“We will miss you too, dearie.” Her mother said softly before checking the time. “Oh my, you’ll miss the train at this rate. Go, go!”
And, with that, Lapiz traveled through the wall of platform 9 3/4, boarded the train and began her first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Her future uncertain, she was wide eyed with wonder and curiosity as she took her first steps into the unknown.
