Nova hopped up the stairs towards the Owlery, bag bouncing along with each step that she took. It was the second day of being at Hogwarts for her second year, and as usual, she had to send a letter home. The first time she had done it was early on in her first year, to tell her parents she was happy there and had arrived safely. Granted, she knew the way more properly and didn't get as lost as before.
Pushing the doors open, she sidestepped a few droppings the owls had left and reached a small place she could write on. Pulling out some parchment and a quill, she tapped the end on her chin. Deciding to go basic and short, she began to write.
Reading it over, the Hufflepuff nodded before carefully folding it up and slipping it into an envelope she had brought up with her. She walked towards one of the owls, a cute brown one with big eyes, and gently tried to tie it to its leg. Reaching into her bag for a small owl treat she had brought, she fed it to the owl as a thank you. Before it could fly off, someone else entered.Hey mum and dad,
I'm at Hogwarts now, and the train ride went fine. I just had breakfast and lessons are about to start. Tell Oliver and Izzie I said hello. Write back soon!
