The Sorting Ceremony - Great Hall

Kael walks into the Great Hall, fascinated at first sight. Seeing the hundreds and thousands of floating candles that occasionally race each other in the air, leaving trails of glittering sparks; the bewitched ceiling shifting slightly, clouds drifting lazily above the stars. One star twinkles, almost like it's winking at Kael. The sound of students whispering in excited chatter, the sound of silverware clattering as students wait for the Ceremony to start makes Kael get more thrilled and eager to get sorted. Some curious first years try simple spells under the tables, causing occasional sparks and floating items. "Ashbourne, Kael!" one of the Professors calls, and Kael walks to the stool. The Professor puts the Sorting Hat on Kael's head, and now he is looking at the black inside of the Hat. Kael hears in his head: "Ah, plenty of loyalty I see, lots of courage... You could try the daring Gryffindor route… but is that your true self? No… patience, dedication, kindness… yes, I know where you belong... HUFFLEPUFF!" A roar of laughter, clapping and cheers rise the bewitched ceiling as Kael shakily walks to the Hufflepuff table. Candles above the Hufflepuff table glow brighter, almost dancing in celebration. He sits near another first year student, that has just been sorted. 'My name is Kael... Kael Ashbourne..' Kael says anxiously to the student next to him.

"Jasper. Jasper Alderidge." said the person next to Kael. Kael noticed that Jasper's glasses were cracked. "Hey, Jasper, your glasses are cracked.". "Oh, they are? Thanks for telling me." Jasper replied. Kael whipped out his wand. "Oculus Reparo!" he whispered, and Jasper's glasses were instantly fixed. Jasper blinks after Kael fixes his glasses. Jasper says: "You’ve got to teach me that one—I usually just squint until I walk into walls.". Kael shifts in his seat a little, thinks for a moment, then replies: "Sure, we can practice it later. Not sure where though, I don't know where anything is in this huge place.". As he said that, the Headmaster stands up and delivers his speech. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts! Before we begin our banquet, I will give our new students a reminder of the rules: The Forbidden Forest is off limits to all pupils. I have also been asked by the caretaker to remind you that magic is not to be used in the halls between classes. Now, let the banquet begin!". As the Headmaster said that, Kael and Jasper were surprised when tons of food magically appeared on the tables. Kael and Jasper piled some of everything onto their plates and started eating. After the feast, the food disappeared and the Headmaster stood up again. "Now, the Prefects shall lead their houses to the common rooms. Off you trot!" the Headmaster said. Jasper and Kael were so full they couldn't do anything besides following the Prefects to the common room. When they reach the Kitchen Corridor, the Prefect warns: "Tap the rhythm wrong, and you get doused in vinegar. Trust me, you don't want that smell on your robes.". The Prefect taps the barrel in Helga Hufflepuff's rhythm, and the door to the common room slides open. They all enter and get into their dorm rooms. Kael was teaching Jasper how to perform Oculus Reparo before going to bed.
