Summer break, over. Summer Camp, done. It was time to return to Hogwarts. Was Sere excited? Oh, yes, hundred percent. The summer break had gone pretty smoothly after all, without any major conflict or tears; and Fair Days -the Summer Camp- had turned out to be another unforgettable experience. Now the school life was waving a cheerful 'hi!', and Sere was always more than eager to welcome another year, ready to gain more knowledge at Hogwarts, the magical school full of surprises.

What awaited in her third year? Being a third-year meant choosing two electives in addition to the eight compulsory subjects taught in the first two years. Sere had already decided that she would take Care of Magical Creatures and Divination. The first one was because Sere wanted to learn more about animals in general (there might be some useful tips to take care of Buddy) and magical creatures in particular; and the other one was because... err, Muggle Studies felt like a repetition of something she already knew in daily basis, and Runes... well, anything related to History of Magic was definitely not her cup of tea, skipped for now.

Sere chose an empty compartment closest to the carriage entrance. She took the window seat and brought Buddy -her bunny- out of the cage. She placed the cage behind her feet and let the gray bunny curled up comfortably in her lap. "Look at how cute you are, fur ball." She petted Buddy affectionately before gazed out the window as the train began to pull away from platform 9¾.

Off to Hogwarts!

Another year, more chaos. Hell yes, Ruby thought eagerly as she skipped through the train, eager for new friends, lessons, and possibly even more chaos than the last. But first, I need to find a compartment or else, I will probably disrupt some things. And I do not want to do that. Holding Kiyo's bird cage firmly in one hand, she peeked in a few compartments. Oof. No one yet. But I'll find a compartment at some point. Maybe. Her train of thought (pun intended) was just interrupted by someone softly saying something to their pet, who the hell would say 'furball' to someone that isn't their pet, like, what the hell. Her ears pricked and eyes wide with apprehension and eagerness, she peeked through the compartment door. Maybe she will let me sit with her. Besides, she's alone anyways. And also, it can't hurt to try, no? Tucking a strand of black hair behind her ear, Ruby opened her mouth to speak. E-Excuse me, can I sit here? she said tentatively and determinedly, braced for the girl saying 'no'. Maybe she might say yes. Just maybe. Perhaps. I hope that she's okay with me sitting with her. I really hope she would, because it would become embarrassing if I can't find a compartment. And besides, my social anxiety.

Sere changed her attention as she heard someone slid the compartment door. A girl in a blue shirt and bronze miniskirt tucked a strand of her black hair and asked if she could sit in this compartment, together with her.

"Sure, make yourself comfortable." Sere's voice was light, sounded friendly. She was still stroking Buddy -the Mist Hopper- with her left hand, while her right hand invited the girl to sit in the empty seat across from her. "Hi, I'm Sere, Sere Nade. This is my third-year in Hogwarts, and I'm a Gryffindor. It's nice to meet you." She extended her hand, hoping her interlocutor (and actually the only person she could talk to right now) would accept it. "Umm... I don't think we've ever met before."

She saw the girl carrying an owl with her. "Your pet? A Tawny owl, isn't it?" Sere had seen some similar owls at Hogwarts. "Ah right, I forgot to introduce him!" The British-Korean girl gently patted her nearly asleep bunny until it woke up again. "Sorry, boy. Just wanna introduce you properly..." she whispered to the gray furball.

"This is Buddy. Just like the name, he's more like a friend of mine." Sere could see Buddy's obsidian eyes staring at her, then shifting to the girl in front of it. As if understanding, the bunny jumped slightly, positioning itself facing the girl. Both of its long ears perked up in anticipation. "He's curious about you." Sere chuckled. "This boy is always curious about new people."

It was the moment Skye was waiting for so damn long now..hogwarts..as excited and curious she was about her future adventures in this school she was also feeling nervous. And a part of her was thinking she didn't belong there.Which she found ridiculous as she was most certainly a witch with witch / wizard parents, and she knew about magic since like..forever. She had waved goodbye to her parents and even hugged them even though she wasn't a natural hugger. Then let go of a breath she didn't know she was holding and found her way to the famous Hogwarts Express, Skye couldn't quite tell why she was feeling so nervous, perhaps she just didnt wanna be alone again and she hoped she would find *consistent* friendships she'd feel like genuinely belonged. Despite of all of her ridiculous unwanted thoughts she put a fake yet happy smile while searching for a place to sit, preferably with other people as she wanted to come off as friendly, not as an antisocial gal. "I can do this" She told to herself, and found herself actually believing it with no effort. She was just literally overthinking this.

It didn't take long to find a compartment; there were two people there. One of them looked like Skye's age while the other looked a bit older.
They had pets! Skyed wished she had a pet to bring with her,preferably a kitty, but she couldnt yet trust herself to take care of another living being. After all, her upbringing caused had caused her to mainly just take care of herself, and she was good at it. So she regained my confidence and peeked in and said "H-hi, can i come in?"
"Why did I shutter! I have to get myself together" she thought as she was giving a little friendly smile.

The boy walks down the cabin of the train looking for a place to sit. He knew nobody, everything seemed so odd, everyone talking to friends. He was confused by so many things but he knew that in the absence of other knowledge he needed to act like normal, so he was determined to try at least to find a place to sit with others whom he could talk to and hopefully make some friends.

As he walks down the current cabin train he sees a girl about his age to a year older standing at the open door of a cabin. Inside he can see two other girls, both about the same age group sitting and chatting with each other. He hears the standing girl, Skye, ask if she can come in and before the seated girls have a chance to answer Steofan walks up next to Skye and says, "Oh hi, room for me as well?"

He smiles brightly, trying to cover up his nervousness. He thinks to himself, "Did I really just ask these strangers if I could sit with them? Three girls at that? I don't know anything about talking to girls. Oh well, play it cool, what do I know about talking to anyone in this strange place."

He stands straight, his tallish slender frame still as he waits for an answer, careful not to crowd Skye.

Before Sere could hear any response from the girl in a blue shirt, she realized that someone else starung at them from the compartment door. She looked up again and saw a girl with... Oh! Eyes a mix of blue and green she'd never seen before. Sere heard the light brown-haired girl's trembling voice and greeted her back firmly, "Hi! Yes, of course. Come in!" She hoped her firm tone would make the girl less shy. "First time coming to Hogwarts?"

Sere remembered how hard it had been to hide the mixed-feelings that she had gotten as she set her foot on Platform 9¾ for the first time, and when she slid the door open and entered the compartment for the same first time. This extraordinary feelings seemed more than common among the firsties. That was how she guessed this girl was probably one of the new students.

Just then, another person greeted from the entrance. Well, Sere wasn't bothered because everyone definitely needed a seat for this long journey to Hogwarts. The boy looked tall due to his proportions. He also sounded brighter than everyone else in the room, "Hello! Perfect time to take the last seat in this compartment. Come in!"

Sere decided to introduce herself once more, hoping for some similar responses as well as interesting information to bring the flow of the conversation, "I'm Sere, Sere Nade. Third year from Gryffindor," Sere stroked her bunny's back once more, "and this is Buddy, my best friend." Sere could feel the gray rabbit getting tired of this introduction session from the way its paw pressed harder against her thigh. But Sere pretended that she didn't get it, chuckled and said, "We're both pleased to meet you."

Ruby sighs, relieved. Thank goodness I managed to find a seat right away! She smiles while dragging her trunk into the compartment. Ruby sets it down and sits on the left side of Sere. She also opens Kiyo’s bird cage. Her owl flies happily across the compartment, elated at the exercise opportunity. As Sere introduces herself, Ruby’s heart skips a beat. Cool! Third year, she thinks optimistically. As she outstretches her hand for a handshake, Ruby accepts, and shakes it happily. Um, I don’t think we’ve ever met before, her seatmate says. We haven’t. I’ve only seen you at the Gryffindor table during breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the Great Hall, Ruby replies matter-of-factly. She looks at Sere’s rabbit interestedly. It’s so cute, she laughs in her mind. So its name is Buddy? Cute! He’s curious about you. This boy is always curious about new people. Awww, she squeals. Oh, right, forgot to introduce myself. Ruby clears her throat a little bit. I’m Ruby Amethyst Diumme, first year Ravenclaw, twelve years old, she introduces, winking. She glances at Kiyo, who was perching on a cushion. And that’s Kiyo, my tawny owl. Ruby inclines her head — her supposedly trademark sign of respect — and opens her trunk, getting a book. Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by a Muggle author named Edith Hamilton. She was very into mythology now and took any opportunity to learn anything and everything about it. She opened it and continued reading about Oedipus’ tragic but epic tale. A few minutes later, Ruby looks up. A girl with light brown hair and green-blue eyes peeking into the compartment. H-Hi, can I come in? Sere Nade accepts the request. She seems cool, Ruby remarks in her head. Ruby glances at the brown-haired girl and inclines her head, acknowledging her. Hello, she says. She goes back to her book. And then footsteps. INTERRUPTION AGAIN? Ruby looks up again and sees a boy with auburn brown hair and green eyes. Is this compartment becoming a magnet for people, she thinks. Oh, hi, room for me as well? the boy said. Sere accepted. And hello, she says, inclining her head again, now directed at the boy.

"Such a beautiful name. Nice to meet you, Ruby." She gave a little smile, trying to understand what Ruby meant when she said she'd met her at the Gryffindor Table. It was unlikely a first-year would have seen her sitting on that long bench. This was her first trip to Hogwarts. "Have you ever thought about having a special talent... a seer maybe?" She didn't know why she decided to keep it vague and asking a rather 'seemed like unrelated' question.

"Hi, Kiyo." Sere's mind sent her to the memory of bringing Buddy to Hogwarts for the first time. "I've heard from those who have owls like you that this creature would be very helpful at school, especially for delivering letters." The Gryffindor leaned back and continued, "Good choice."

Sere watched Ruby get a book from her trunk and begin to read it. She scanned the cover and saw the name of the author, Edith Hamilton. "Are you a muggle too?" In an instant, she realized that this sudden question could make her interlocutor uncomfortable, "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt your reading. Please continue." Sere had heard the name of that American classicist, but had no interest in reading her works (yet). Perhaps because it was related to mythology, something that involved history mixed with elements of fiction, neither of which were Sere's favorites.
