Theresa Alice Rubel was originally born as Theresa Alice Calvert on the 7th of July 2007, in Southampton. Her father was Blaise Calvert, a potioneer, selling potions and ingredients in his little shop. Her mother was Joanne Wimbley, a muggle woman, shopkeeper of a second-hand bookshop. Their shops were close-by, that's how they could get to know each other. Joanne thought for years that Blaise was some kind of 'naturopath'. He revealed his secret almost immediately when they fell in love. They got married quite soon, only after six months, in 2006. They were killed in 2011, by a group of blood purists, who weren't ever catched. The Calvert grandparents were also killed, and muggle grandparents weren't on good terms with Joanne: they didn't even know about Joanne's marriage, nor about her child. Theresa was placed to the Ever Open Door Orphanage of Southampton.
She always knew she was different from other kids, and not only by her special hair color. They always hurt her, being scared of the red-headed girl. Her magical abilities started to show as she wanted to strike back: somehow, she was able to turn her glass of water to a blood-like, red substance whenever she was angry or scared, to horrify the bullys.
As the Ministry didn't want her true origins, and the existance of the magical world to be revealed to the muggles living and working in the orphanage -who already started to think about calling a priest for an exorcism! - they sent the administrative Ministry worker Argus Rubel to take the kid and place her in a wizarding family. He happened to like the little Tessa that much that he decided to adopt her himself in 2017. They've been living in his apartment in London ever since.
