It was a pleasant day in the first of September. It was not an ordinary day. It was the day when young Vivi will start her magical journey at Hogwarts! Vivi excitedly pushed her trunk in the Platform 9¾ toward the train. The platform was deserted. They had come earlier than the most others. This was mainly because Vivi could not sleep a wink yesterday thanks to her anxiety and woke up early.
Vivi heaved the luggage into the train with the help of her parents. "Well Viv!" said her mother, "It's the day you waited for! Take care of yourself at Hogwarts, try to make friends and take care of Selene too." Selene was her pet cat. She bought her in the Magical Menagerie when she was shopping in Diagon Alley. "Of couse mom" she said. "And write to us frequently" said her father. "I will dad! I will miss you both" she said as she hugged both of them tearfully.
After all the goodbyes and farewell were in order, she went into the Hogwarts Express to find herself a compartment. Most of the compartments were empty so she chose one and placed her trunk inside. She sat on the seat and looked out of the window. "Woah!" She said. What a amazing view! There was a Lake which sparkled under the bright sun. This was just the beginning. I wonder what amazing things I will see when I get there to hogwarts!

While Vivi was taking in majestic the view of the lake, she didn't notice the compartment's door opening behind her. She turned away from the window as she heard someone coming in and sitting inside the compartment. There was a girl with brunette hair till her shoulders and blue eyes sitting opposite to her.
The girl seemed nervous and her eyes shifted to the window when she saw Vivi looking at her. Maybe she didn't want to talk to her? Or she was just shy? Vivi again saw the girl looking at her. She smiled warmly, to make the girl comfortable around her. They can't sit in silence for the whole train journey! The girl seemed to get some courage by this gesture. The girl introduced herself as Emily.
Trying not to be over excited and scare Emily away, Vivi replied calmly "Hello! I'm Vivi Grace. You can call me Vivi!" she said, "And I'm just starting at Hogwarts, a first year.". Vivi felt there was a sense of relief in Emily's face as she said this. "And you're a first year too right?" she asked. Emily seemed about the same age as her and she was nervous so Vivi assumed she was a first year.
"What house do you think you'll be in? I think I'll be in Ravenclaw! Everyone tells me that I'm smart! My mother was in Ravenclaw." she said, "But my father was a Slytherin. ". Vivi was overjoyed! She just made herself a friend even before she stepped into Hogwarts!

Vivi was relieved. Emily seemed to be much at ease now and spoke to her energetically. She was just shy after all! Emily expressed her desire to be in Ravenclaw too. She told her that she used to drive her mother mad by asking questions. Vivi laughed. "That's me too. I ask a lot of questions but the difference is that Mom doesn't go mad!" Vivi said.
Emily went on chatting away about how it would be great if both of them were Ravenclaws. It really would be! At some point Vivi saw Emily shifting awkwardly and asked if they could be friends. "Of course! Vivi squealed with excitement, "I love to be friends with you! There!! I made my first friend! Just like you asked mom!
Emily again shifted in her seat. But this time she was searching through her trunk for something. When she had stopped rummaging, she took out a box and opened it. It had some kind of food in it. Emily started explaining what it was and offered the food to Vivi.
"Thanks! she said as she started eating it. Woah! The taste of the dish started spreading throughout her mouth. I have never tasted anything like this! Vivi had in turn something else to offer. She took out two packets of her most cherished treat from her trunk and gave one to Emily. "Care for chocolate frogs?.
Vivi thought about the possiblity that Emily might not know about these. "Are your parents wizards?"

Thoughts - Sample
Emily replied that her parents were wizards but she lived on the moor so there was not much wizarding contact with her."Then how much of the wizarding ways you must have missed!" said Vivi, "No I'm not technically a pure blood. I'm a Wizard born. Dad's a pure blood, Mom's a muggle born" she explained.
She saw Emily taking the packet from her hand and opened it. The frog leaping out of the packet seemed to have startled her. "Easy!" Vivi said as she laughed. She remembered the time when she first encountered a Chocolate frog as a little kid. "They are not the best chocolate you can buy but it's the card that you want!" Vivi saw that Emily got 'Cassandra Vablatsky'. "Oo! That's quite rare" Vivi exclaimed,"I've only got five of them provided that I started collecting since I was four.". By this time Vivi started opening her own Chocolate frog. She caught the frog before it could leap out of the box. Well you could say it was by practice.
After she ate the frog, she looked at her card - Uric the Oddball, a medieval wizard, who became famous for his eccentric behaviour, such as wearing a jellyfish as a hat, and sleeping in a room with fifty pet Augureys. He is considered to be one of the most unconventional and weirdest wizards in history, and, as such, is often the punchline of wizarding jokes.
"I got dozens of this card" said Vivi, "You can have this of you want. You can start collecting! We can buy these at Hogsmede! Though we are only allowed at our third year." It was dark by now. Vivi really enjoyed talking to Emily. In just some time, they will reach Hogwarts."We better change into our robes. We would be reaching Hogwarts soon."
